Adding my two cents to this thread, been experimenting with ket for about half a year now and it’s such a variable drug.
Most of my friends take small bumps at raves the way most people do coke. When used like that, ket mostly gives a sort of drunk, but with a slight psychedelic edge to it: music/touch might feel different, some get really gigly and confused by the lights for example. Loss of balance is another big one, comparable to alcohol, I’d argue a bit more floaty and surreal feeling.
I personally don’t like using ketamine in that way however, as tolerance goes up crazy fast and there’s quite significant health risks involved (mainly bladder damage).
In higher doses ketamine becomes a lot more psychedelic & dream-like, especially when trying it for the first time, I suggest starting slow, I ended up tripping really hard after just 2,5 bumps of average purity ketamine, which can be scary if that’s not what you’re going for experience wise.
For me however, I do prefer treating ketamine like a psychedelic. Keeping use occasional and intentional and making sure the setting is safe. You want to be lying or sitting down, preferably slightly sideways in case you vomit (some people get nauseous, I personally don’t but that is a possibility). It’s kind of hard describing how a K-hole feels, but for me, when I put music on, go lay down comfortably and close my eyes, I will feel all sorts of bodily sensations as if I’m a ragdoll being tossed around (sensations of falling, flying, being dragged around, all stuff I’ve felt, I find it quite pleasant, kind of like a realistic dream of being in a rollercoaster)
For me it really is the music that makes the trip and that creates visuals inside my head. I prefer electronic music, as the bleepy sounds create really cool experiences in my opinion. It depends a bit on how high a dose you take, sometimes I can still feel some parts of my physical body, but in a complete K-hole, it is a complete out of body experience and you cannot or very VERY hardly move. The visuals vary, as they do for everyone on any type of trip drug ofc. For me I often find myself floating in or around the galaxy, stars and spaceships. Oceans also come up a lot, one time I became one with a jellyfish haha, waves are a common pattern too.
I think it’s really neat that a horse tranquilizer can be so versatile as a recreational drug. I would really just ask yourself what purpose you’d want to use it for, whether that’s more the clubbing, the afters, the chilling with friends or the trip experience and plan your dose & setting according to that
