The EADD a trifle annoyed thread.

knock, don't you think the little icon next to the thread title might be a bit too aggressive and offputting to poor innocent posters who are but merely annoyed?

How peculiar. Are we talking minutes or hours? The last time I drank flat fizz, it was coke that had sat out all night.

Within the hour I reckon, certainly much faster than other carbonated beverages, I usually stick to supermarket sugar free but occasionally indulge in branded pop

We're playing on different fields, my friend. Supermarket sugar free????!!! An hour is poor pop performance though!

I got into drinking pop after advice on giving up booze, they advised me to drink sugary drink to avoid the sugar craving from stopping drinking. Not sure of it worked but I switched to sugar free as I prefer chemicals to natures sweetener.

I can get mildly aggravated if I have to drink plain water..and we don't want that;)

No, mild atm23 aggravation is the last thing we need :) I'm just still getting my head round you not liking sugar 8(

I do avoid refined sugar, I gave it up in coffee many years ago after seeing an alternative practitioner about a skin condition. I like a sweety every now and again but rarely drink sugary pop.

I lost a fair bit of weight a couple of years ago and might break into full blown annoyance if I put much of it back on

Deep breaths, you haven't eaten or drunk anything yet ;)

What was your skin condition? I am dissatisfied with my skin in certain places. Sugar is a culprit? You said "alternative" practitioner, sceptic shields up!

Bit miffed that ive decided I love my lady and I want to commit to a future, but shes now not so sure. Karma.

Actually I suppose that's more anti snoo than miffed

It's well documented that sugar causes spits spots and various nasties. Here's a short snippet

sugar in the blood is also very damaging on a cellular level, it doesn’t really have a nutritional value and is known as an anti-nutrient as it can stop the absorption of certain vitamins.

Increased blood sugar causes a number of chemical reactions in the body which results in Inflammation – this can easily escalate out of control, Inflammation is the basis of virtually every disease process from cancer, heart disease, joint problems and dementia. Sugar also slows down our immune response, which means we are less able to fight off infections.

Skin problems, such as Acne, Eczema and Skin Ageing can be triggered by inflammation in the body.

I've suffered from acute Psoriais for 20years, it was a serious problem for a long time and almost resulted in hospitalisation more than once.

I tried anything and everything to treat it, conventional and otherwise almost nothing worked and even if it did the remission didn't last long. In the end I took a course of cyclosporine and managed to get on top of it.

Now it's just a mild annoyance so I can mention it here;)

Yeah I remember us discussing skin creams a while back. Cyclosporine, I'll look it up, ta :)

Cyclosporine is a very unpleasant immunosuppresent drug, originally used for kidney transplants, nasty stuff but things were very bad at the time and I had a very good consultant.

I have used more skin creams than anyone person should ever have to but I'm lucky enough not to have had any illnesses that have restricted my life too much.

GPs are generally not great at managing Psoriasis and I'd strongly advise anyone who developed the condition to insist on a referral to a dermatologist....or they may get a 'trifle annoyed'

My sis took part in the UK trials of cyclo when she had her first kidney transplant (over 25 years ago now). It was trialed as a liquid back then, and was vile tasting and fucking expensive. The side effects for her were fucking horrendous. Her face ballooned to the size of a pumpkin. It didn't work either, and the transplant failed within a year.

Immunosuppresents seem to be very problematic all round when it comes to side effects. She's on a different one now, has to take it every day for life unfortunately. She's got a fair old set of unsavoury side effects from it too, definitely not pleasant
