Welcome to the brave new world of the interwebs.
mister, I have to wonder where your loyalties lie. At first you argue that SR should not be publicised lest it be shut down, then you switch to SR should be shut down because it is evil for various reasons. I think you also argued that drug reform should go through the "proper channels" not by circumventing, then thumbing your nose at prohibitionists.
I was into the drug scene many years ago as a younger, more reckless person. Now I am in my mid forties and a respectable accountant with a small business. A few times a year I like to partake in some good quality H or C but what am I to do? You need to have connections. You cannot even get close to finding good quality smack if you don't associate with dealers or have friends who are addicts, and even then?
When I was young any drug was the shit, then you moved up and had supplies of the real shit. But after moving away from that world and becoming a "respectable member of society" what do you do? What is the chances of me getting ripped off, robbed, busted or just ending up with any crap if I were to wander around Hindley Street on a Friday night looking to score?
Certainly SR is safer, and lets face it drugs are the only thing Australians can get on the interwebs that are cheap and high quality. We get ripped off by music and everything else. Then in real life we get ripped off by our drugs. THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND POOREST QUALITY IN THE WORLD. (my emphasis and opinion).
When the story first broke I was indeed angry because it attracted lots of new and inexperienced people to SR who started to order ridiculous amounts (ounces and above) from places like the Netherlands every fucking week, this brought it to the attention of authorities which in turn made it near impossible to order anything from NL and various other now blacklisted countries essentially ruining something a few people had been doing for years without problems, ordering sensible amounts every now and then.
Fast forward a few months and its hardly worth arguing that SR shouldnt be openly talked about in a forum like Bluelight when its plastered all over the news. I now actively participate in the discussions because a phenomenon such as SR warrants serious discussion regarding prohibition and the drug war.
I think you also argued that drug reform should go through the "proper channels" not by circumventing, then thumbing your nose at prohibitionists
Sorry Im not sure what you mean here? Yes I believe drug reform should go through the proper legal channels as it gives us legitimacy unlike places such as SR which are vilified by the media and further tarnishing drug users in the general publics eyes, it also gives the government more ammunition to pass legislation such as tighter internet controls.
Now I am in my mid forties and a respectable accountant with a small business. A few times a year I like to partake in some good quality H or C but what am I to do? You need to have connections
A suggestion, maybe if you do not have any "connections" its telling you its time to hang up your drug cloak and call it a day?
In regards to my loyalties within the world of drugs, my loyalties lay with friends, family and trying to keep under the radar, safe until such time when this ridiculous war on drugs is brought to an end through the proper channels such as changes in legislation.
Dread Pirate Roberts and SR cons people by playing the rebel, the anti government superstar of the drug world fighting for our freedom. The reality is he/she is just a business man/woman out to make as much money as he/she can. This in part is proved by the fact that the selling and buying of explosives, guns and weapons to anyone who has money, no questions asked.
Heres a quote from the man himself DPR
Here's the rub: the drug war is an acute symptom of a deeper problem, and that problem is the state. If they “legalize, regulate and tax” it, it's just one more part of society under their thumb, another productive sector that they can leech off of.
If prohibition is lifted, most people here will go away. You'll go back to your lives and get your drugs from whatever state certified dispensaries are properly licensed to sell to you. Drug use will be as interesting as smoking and drinking.
Here's my point: Silk Road is about something much bigger than thumbing your nose at the man and getting your drugs anyway. It's about taking back our liberty and our dignity and demanding justice. If prohibition is lifted, and the drug industry is placed under the yoke of the state, then we won in a small way, but lost in a big way. Right now, drugs are ours. They aren't tainted by the government. We the people control their manufacture, distribution and consumption. We should be looking to expand that control, taking back our power, no giving what is ours to the very people that have been our enemies all along.
It's easy to justify though. Think of all the horrors the war on drugs has caused that will be gone, almost instantly. That pain could stop!
Don't be tempted by this short-term easy fix of “let the government handle it.” Their time is coming to an end. The future is OUR time. Let us take this opportunity they've given us to gain a foothold from which we can throw that yoke off completely. We are NOT beasts of burden to be taxed and controlled and regulated. WE are free spirits! We DEMAND respect! The future can be a time where the human spirit flourishes, unbridled, wild and free! Don't be so quick to put on that harness and pull for the parasites.
If prohibition is lifted, where will you be? Will you forget about all this revolution stuff? Will you go back to ignoring that itching feeling that something isn't right, that men in uniforms and behind desks have just a bit too much control over your life, and are taking more and more of your sovereignty every day? Will you go back to thinking that taxes are as inevitable as death and the best you can do is to pull as hard as you can for them until you mind, body and spirit are all used up? Or will you feel the loss, as one more wild west frontier comes under the dominion of the enemy, and redouble your efforts to stop it?
DPR doesnt want drugs legalised, DPR doesnt want the war and death to end. He/she has made a fortune from the war on drugs so why would he want it to end?
I joined SR only to post that people should stop gloating about how much drugs they have received through the post, which country it came and which country it was going to, to stop openly abusing LE. All this was giving LE so much information it wasnt funny. My posts were deleted and eventually I was banned, I was told by members that they loved the attention from the media, that they didnt give a fuck. Go have a look in SR now, see how many thread are being closed because people are now realising how much info they give LE, see the posts from people now telling others to shut up and not reveal where things are coming from, see the threads about NL now not worth ordering from.
Ive never bought anything from SR and refuse to do so. Like Ive said before, its just a bunch of people who have no idea who have single handedly brought more unwanted attention and fucked what once was a safe and reliable way to get quality drugs.
