lately the itch has become rather unbearable and is kinda ruining the high. i know benadryl is supposed to help, but its not. is there anything else that could be done?
gracias

Odd, I always considered the itches to be an added benefit, kinda like something there to remind you of how good you feel.I guess if it got like poison ivy, intensity wise, like I could not stop and itched till it got irritated, then I would become a problem, but. . .
How bad does it get for you? what makes it unbearable?
~~w

what i find annoying about it is like i'm laying down nodding off, getting comforatable and then every ten seconds I have to itch myself. it ruins the whole comfortability of opiates. another annoying thing is when i try to get some sleep i wake up every hour to itch myself. a little itching is alright but when it doesn't stop it makes the expirience not as enjoyable.

I like the itching as well, sort of a learned association I suppose.
There are a class of prescription antihistamines that work quite well for the itching/nausea from opioids, and are indeed often co-prescribed. They include promethazine (Phenergan) and hydroxyzine... can't get them OTC but not too hard to find if you look around.

kinda off topic but I just discover taking a hot shower towards the end of a night blowing smack is absoultouly amazing. I don't think I ever felt more warm and comfortable ever in my life.

Never found anything that really stopped it altogether but sometimes Aloe Vera cream will reduce it a bit, so it doesn't get as annoying and you don't end up scratching in the same spot for too long.

Could there be opiates in the pills I've been popping ???
For the past two months I've only been popping pills, & taking mushies, had 1/2 a gram of coke, but I've got itchy patches of skin.
Doctor says it's the soap or laundry detergent I use but I'm not so sure.
I know opiates in pills are a myth but wasn't there a huge shipment from Afghanistan from last year ???

Do what? Uhm, what pills
have you been popping?
*resists urge to make a smart
ass comment*

I enjoy the opiate itch too, somewhat. The best feeling is after four Percocets and you get that itch between your toes, anyone know what I mean? It's a great feeling! The only bad itch I got was the time I took 250mg of codeine and my lower leg got all itchy and I scratched it so much it started bleeding.

Yeah i really dont mind the opiate itch either, in fact it feels quite nice, codine though gives me intense itches, I think I've drawn blood from that.
What i dont like though is when i lift up my top in public & itch my stomach, i just forget what is appropriate & inapropriate when I'm really high. Oh yeah i also itch my nose constanly which again in public is a dead givaway.

when i first made the post I wasn't talkin about percocet or codeine, I don't even I get that itchy of those. I was refering to snorting smack all night. There is quite a difference in itchyness between a couple of percs and $30 worth of H.

Yeah I agree, the itch from smack is much worse and can become really distracting. The only time it never bothered me is if I got really wasted and then I just didn't give a shit, I could still feel the itch but I just couldn't be bothered scratching it.
Disco Diablo-I think it would be very unlikely for you to get an opiate-laced pill. I doubt if you could fit enough into a pill for it to be orally active. It certainly wouldn't be enough to make you itch anyway. It could be other stuff in the E's that your liver doesn't like thats making you itch maybe??

I have accepted it as a package deal, and have learned to enjoy it.. Nothing like that nut itch to compliment the nods....

The only time I find an opiate itch to be unbearable is when it's off something extremely weak.. like coedine..
I had the worst itch of my life off coedine..
However, if I itch of anything else.. I am usually feeling too damn euphoric to even care..
anyways it just feels good too
As long as you are fucked up enough I guess

I really dont find it to be that bad, well, I didn't back when I actually used to get the opioid itch, I haven't as of the last few years - it kinda goes away after you start using on a chronic basis.. it's just one of the side effects that goes along with opioid use, if it's that big a problem then dont use..
