The Dive Social v. CHEERS! 🍻

"Killing innocent Palestinians is horrific. Killing of innocent Israelis is horrific" is one quote of hers I found. What a barbarian.

Yeah she actually got criticized by her pro-Israel fans for that. Which made me curious how so quickly she could've made genocidal comments about Palestinians.

The hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance that many hold when we compare the responses of Russia & Ukraine to Israel & Palestine is ridiculous.
"Israel thinks that they are superman, but they are really homelander" is one of my favourite 5-second soundbites from this interview.

Unfairly or not, I will forever associate her with that absolute cringefest video of sheltered elites singing "Imagine" to entertain the peasants early in the pandemic. 🥵

I’ve always admired the South American people’s ability to experiment with new things politically, like they will elect a communist one election cycle then think, nah, how about we elect a fascist this go-around? 🤔

AMSTERDAM, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Far-right populist Geert Wilders wants to be the Netherlands' next prime minister and would focus his efforts on curbing immigration, he said following a landmark election win that will have repercussions in the Netherlands and beyond.

Wilders' win sent a warning shot to mainstream parties across Europe ahead of European Parliament elections next June, which will likely be fought on the same issues as the Dutch election: immigration, cost of living and climate change.

"We've had it with the old politicians," voter Herman Borcher said in the eastern town of Enschede, summing up the mood.

A fan of former U.S. President Donald Trump and Hungary's eurosceptic Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Wilders is openly anti-Islam, and anti-EU and said "the Netherlands will be returned to the Dutch."

But his most radical ideas - and in particular any plans to take the country out of the EU or ban the Koran - will be rejected by other parties he must work with in order to form a coalition government, meaning he will have to compromise.

Man I had forgotten about Wilders for about a decade, the last time I remember him being in the news was during the EU sovereign debt crisis. Still see that he’s playing the same old tune, tbh I could’ve gone another ten years not thinking about him

Since we’re on the subject of political whack-a-dos, these guys were my favs from the period I last was aware of Wilders. I always admired their complete commitment to old-school scumbaggery lol

They got to be the third largest party in Greece briefly. I remember being blown away by their press conference afterwards, it was like something ripped straight outta the 1930s. Had a hard time finding it online but finally did, it’s filmed in kind of a weird way but it was the best I could find

this seems like an attempt to manufacture an issue about an attempt to manufacture an issue.

also since when were the chiefs colors red and black? not red and gold?

alasdair

The idea of cultural appropriation has lost all its intended meaning and become a bit of a hot-button farce. Reminds me of this:

They shouldn't have dropped it imo. Instead, they should have built real links with native Americans and encouraged them to play rugby and given them funding to get some competitive rugby teams going.
