Absolutely. I loved Into the Wild. Both movie and book. But, book was better.Bill Bryson is a wonderful story teller ,both factual but very funny
Yeh never seen the movie ,my favourite Bryson book is "A short history of nearly everything " I've literally read it like 5 timesAbsolutely. I loved Into the Wild. Both movie and book. But, book was better.
Agreed. I read on my phone at night. I download books and read them. Sometimes I listen to the audiobook while I follow along. I think as long as you’re making yourself actually read and sift through the words, it can be on an electronic device.I think we all read to much on devices like the one I'm using just now lol
Your right ,while I'm spending time on this forum my wife is on Facebook or playing candy crush (if that's still a thing) we are 4 feet away but make no conversation unless it's "what times tea ready"Agreed. But I think most people take the short cut and use ai to ask questions about it and just read summaries. Scrolling can be troublesome if you’re having negative emotions. You start looking for something to provide stimulation and entertainment. When people stop getting any kind of stimulation or joy from watching thing, sometimes people keep pushing the envelope and end up turning to very taboo subjects and interests. If you’re experiencing depression, I think scrolling social media is the worst thing you can do during very low times because it can build into something much darker.
Yes it is far better ,looking at bright blue screens when lying in bed trying to sleep is no good .Does anyone else think tangible media, as in physical books, is better? All this blue light (har har) from screens, can't be good for us.
Some of the other guys swear by the app but I'm not computer minded and neither are lots of other colleagues I know .Sometimes tech is a step backwards. I think we lose a lot of our critical thinking by out-sourcing critical thought processes at times.
I can't say I have any particular experience in that field. But, I do definitely feel you retain more info when handwriting. Some of the other guys swear by the app but I'm not computer minded and neither are lots of other colleagues I know .
I can kick their ass with pen and paper because I know the values of cable calculations without having to think
The app actually provides the answer for you ,that can't and isn't good
You just summed up this thread.Sometimes tech is a step backwards. I think we lose a lot of our critical thinking by out-sourcing critical thought processes at times.
Ok. I’ll have to work on that. But off the top of my head you could start with Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Rober Persig or PirsigJust list some good book to read then.
