i saw him.
no one else did, but i was there when it happened.
and i saw. i won't tell, but i did see.
i'm merely a passerby. as if i could get involved in people's businesses. i HAVE no business doing that.

so i pulled out another smoke. yes. that's me alright. taking in the outside world, the good, the bad, the extremely evil. taking in the nicotine, the good.

so i spose you wanna know what happened, eh?
nothing big. nothing that's notable of making its mark in history. but good nonetheless. good 'gossip' i think they call it. well... he was there.. she was there.. quite young.
bout 16 years of age a piece.
i dunno but...have you ever observed people at a train station? they seem "classified". everyone's got their own "sector" they hang in. impressive, in a way... you got your 'cool people', your 'geeks', your 'older society' etc. anyway, that was just a sidenote. (suppose i should have put it brackets hey?)

anyway, i was watching them. the couple, that is. of course i was throwing in the odd glance at everyone else so it didn't look like i was staring. the way he held her, brushed her cheek with his hand, whispered sweet nothings in her ear.. all that stuff that every single person longs to experience once they see something like that. they want to experience it THEN. and then they get depressed. oh well. life's forever tough.
she looked at him. she seemed sweet- pretty smile, shining eyes. he was clearly the man. the way he stood, holding her by the waist...
but i hated him as soon as i saw him. there was just somethin bout him... somethin that....somethin which..... reminded me.

so i pulled out another smoke. yes. that's me alright. taking in the outside world, the good, the bad, the extremely evil. taking in the nicotine, the good.

her bus arrived. she jumped on and he held her hand for as long as he could. but she needed to validate her ticket. after doing that, she came back down the stairs to give her lover a kiss. not just an ordinary one.. but.. u know the type.. the long, erotic type. the one that lingers on for a moment longer after it's over. the people in the bus were getting quite aggravated. some youngeons were cheering and clapping. older tired businessmen were rolling their eyes.
then the bus left.
he was standing alone.
but not for long.
i hated him as soon as i saw him. there was just somethin bout him... somethin that....somethin which..... reminded me.

i turn my glance away. my bus should have arrived 10 minutes ago. the 30-something man next to me is checking out my legs as if he's never seen a female form before. makes me want to move away to another bench. im forced to look the other way.

our original character- the guy that farewelled his sweetheart, is now engaging in a very intense discussion with another girl. then... he's hugging her and kisses her lips. don't tell me- she's no sister of his! so i saw him. i may have been the only one. but i saw. but i won't tell. i just wish the nice girl with the pretty smile and shining eyes can figure it out herself. i blink and look again. my bus arrives.

i get up. the strange man beside me picks up some stuff i've dropped and hands it to me. i mutter a forced: "thank you" and he holds on to my hand that little bit longer while looking me up and down with a huge grin on his face. disgusting.

and as the bus drives away, the culprit is chatting up yet another girl. i told you he reminded me of someone. but that's another story.

so i pulled out another smoke. yes. that's me alright. taking in the outside world, the good, the bad, the extremely evil. taking in the nicotine, the good.
i got home and cringed at the $200 fine i received for smoking on public transport.

sometimes i just don't think.

nice.

you are quite possibly one of my new favorite writers in this forum, chrissy!

all that stuff that every single person longs to experience once they see something like that.
... so true.

about halfway through, i knew where this was going. and i hated that man too because he could have very well been my ex... the guy i almost married, who did this same thing to me over and over. and from a distance, they always look like "such a nice guy." and you're right.. sometimes, the only person that knows for SURE how untrue that is, is just some random stranger, who will never be able to (or care to) change the fate of the unsuspecting stranger... the fragile naive little girl with the sweet smile who never knows what's going on until its too late...

nice work, i liked reading it, kept my attention and yes like e-girl i knew where it was going,, but it didn't matter i wanted to keep reading
