This is a horror movie about a girl who moves away from an abusive husband and into a cheap apartment where she gets phone calls from the past. It seems harmless until the caller starts doing things in the past that affect her apartment in the present. This is explained via a pencil and paper drawing whereby the traces of an erased timeline can still be seen by the artist. Originally set to be starring Brittany Murphy, this movie succeeds in creating a frightening atmosphere officially when past pictures of the protagonist and her mother reveal the shape of a female presence standing and watching from the background.
The plot isn't very original, but the film is done very well for a low-budget horror. The actors dial it back a lot, which probably saves them and the film. most importantly, this movie had me tripping out while I was watching it with headphones. Frankly, it made me pretty fucking scared. Not a smash hit, but worth watching if you enjoy that horror high that hurts your stomach and head.
