^there isnt enough for more than once, and it is very expensive.
just find a couple friends and go down on a cracker of sorts, and a couple boxes of bulbs, believe me, its definitely worth it. OR...find a connect for a tank!!
 
yeah i've always been able to obtain any quantity of medical grade Nitrous at no cost,
so I've been able to (on various occasions) do so much of it, as to not want any more(!)

I couldn't finish a 1800L tank of 100% pure, all to myself.
if you're wondering, one 8gm whippet holds about 4.5L,
so one of these 3ft cylinders holds about 400 whippets' worth.
 
^you lucky bastard, i am TRULY envious. I have only gotten medical grade on 1 or 2 occasions, other than that its ALWAYS food grade. I WISH WISH WISH WISH i could do enough MEDICAL grade that i dont want to do any more of it. that sounds amazing.

i dont know how you get it at no cost, and a seemingly unlimited supply, but you are one lucky fellow.

and for those who dont think there is a difference between food and medical grade, just do a balloon and THEN tell me there is no difference.

Sure dude 8)
As per US law, ALL nitrous legitimately synthesized is 99%+ pure.
If you look on the back of a box of whipped cream chargers it will say something like "8g of 99% pure nitrous oxide per charger".

why is it then that medical feels so much stronger? i mean, i am only really going from experience, but there is a definite difference in strengths of balloons sometimes.
 
i went to the dentist and told him something was wrong i wasnt feeling the nitrous,
he said thats common among cocaine abusers ??? WTF

i havent touched coke for years

The only "weak nitrous" I've had was from tanks, when part of the tank os filled with O2. It's basically "cutting" the nitrous. There is no way someone could "cut" a whipped cream charger.
Trust me, I've been doing this kinda stuff for a long time.
 
I meant from different strengths from tanks, not from chargers.

Is the "cutting" of the nitrous done often? This explains a lot though, thanks.
 
It's hard to say, it depends on who's filling up the tank and whether or not they're trying to make money. If you get can a tank with a seal still on the nozzle, then you're good, but plenty of tanks are re-filled and if that's the case you really dont know what's in there unless you're watching it get re-filled.

IME the whippits from a tank are alot stronger aswell.

But i think this has to do with the amount of nitrous in the balloon.
From a tank the balloons are always alot bigger than a single cartridge can get it to be.

To fix this problem i crack 3 chargers at a time into the baloon and it makes all the difference.
 
I wasnt even comparing it to whippits from the bulbs. I only meant tanks.

Im just going by the fact that say im at a festival, and i guy buy some balloons from some guy, and they dont really give you the wahs or anything. Then later on i buy some from someone else, and it looks like its the same type of tank and everything, and i am on my ass and just let go of a fistful of balloons. you know?

IMO the only way to do the bulbs is 2-3 at a time.
 
i just bought a whip cream dispenser, such a good investment..
are the chargers readily available at say a super market? or am i going to have to order them off the internet
 
I obtained 72 of the cheapest bulbs i could find online and an aluminum cracker. About half of the bulbs won't fit into the cracker. Which one do you think is the problem. I find it hard to believe that the bulbs can be made of much different dimiensions, but some fit fine in the cracker. I plan on getting a whip cream dispenser eventually but wonder if these bulbs may still work in it or another cracker.
 
the fittings on gas cylinders are specific to the gas that belongs in the tank and color of the tanks tell u what gas is in it too

u cant fit a nitrous tank on a machine to fill it with oxygen, unless u are doing something very wrong, like changing the tank fittings

oxygen tanks green
nitrous blue

i believe medical and food grade nitrous are just about the same
it's the welding grade u never want to inhale....it tastes like rotten eggs and has solvents in it that are not meant to be inhaled or swallowed
 
If you use crackers you're eventually going to run into problems with your chargers somewhere down the line.

Chargers have different dimensions somewhat and after you've done charger after charger and that cracker is freezing cold things start getting a little screwy.

One thing that I've found happens a lot is that you'll insert your charger, screw down with the cracker's lid, and it won't pop the charger because the needle is off just enough that it punctures the metal around the actual hole. You're just a fraction of the way off, but it's enough to keep it from breaking the seal.

As was said above, stick to the food/medical grade. Either way doesn't matter, they're both perfectly safe.

Ordering online is an ok way to go, but you're going to pay an obscene amount in shipping. If there are any head shops in your area, check those out first. Most of them carry chargers and they're usually just as cheap as online, especially once you figure not having to pay shipping. Just be sure and NOT to ask for a cracker or balloons. Most head shops will politely ask you to GTFO their property if you do, because you've just implied that you are planning to use said items illegally and that's against the law, blah blah blah. Just like you have to say "water pipe" instead of "bong" or whatever.
 
imho, nitrous crackers are u get what u pay for.

brass crackers that are well machined and screw together true, which i have not bought in 20 plus years, have last in excess of 20 years of hard use.

they cost about 20-25 bux in the 80's

oh, if u end up with more than one brass cracker, remember, the top and bottom are a matched set. if u use the top and bottom from different ones together, ur gonna screw everything up and possibly risk getting threads stuck together!!

place a drop or 2 of COOKING OIL in the thread every 3 months and clean the oily grime and metal shavings with a q tip before u oil it

aluminum crackers worn out in 6months, a waste of money, while plastic crackers hardly work thru a box

now, if know someone with a machine shop, i'm sure these brass thingy's shouldnt cost more than a couple bux to make......

i am almost 100% positive that nitrous has no applications in welding. you are thinking of auto-grade, the kind people use to boost their cars.
 
i was pretty sure that nitrous was used to boost the temperature of oxy-acteylene welding, but i cannot seem to find any reference to this on the web. i thought this was used when higher melting point metals were welded

i could be wrong...
