The Big & Dandy 'Nausea and Psychedelics' Thread

This is sort of a hard one to explain. I didnt feel much if any change, but friends and family were asking what I was on and why I was acting weird and manic (which, again I dont remember acting out of character). I was told you could see I was on something by the look on my face as well.

Keep in mind I was on reglan for opiate induced nausea, so the combo may have been the route cause...

I can verify that this works, and with great efficacy, too. It's a REAL treat, having this stuff around...

acid and nausea

so we got double dipped tabs and i took half a tab and my friend took the other probably an hour and a half ago and the only thing i'm feeling is finding noises intense....like when my friends talk, it's too intense for me and annoys the fuck out of me.

so was this acid?

anyway, to what i was wondering....i started feeling nauseated and it's not going away. is this normal?

How are you feeling now brother? :) I'll leave this open so you can respond...but yeah, all sensory data (sight sound taste etc) can be intense on LSD. But yeah, we don't do ID threads but check in and let us know how you went.....Peace <3

I get nauseated on LSD some times. I just don't eat while tripping and only drink water.

DOx tends to cause nausea....

was there much of a taste to it?

"double dipped" is a bullshit drug dealing marketing tactic unless you see it being laid its only 1 hit....

i once had 4 or 5 hits dropped on this peach ring candy.... but it was done in front of me out of a vial....

I get nausea from LSD, but its usually because of my mental state rather than a dirrect effect of the acid. I find that i get anxious and uncomfortable on the come up of trips it its not the PERFECT time to be tripping.

Also, eating 1/2 a tab is a nice way to test the waters, but the way things are dosed these days I ALWAYS recommend 2 hits minimum for the desired effects of LSD to really kick in.

Love and lite <3 hope your feeling better today, we'd love to hear a report!

yeahhh, i got ripped the fuck off....me and that friend took a full tab each like 2 mins after i posted this and waited and waited....we even took our mind off it by playing video games and playing drinking games with our friends (we weren't drinking, just playing to keep our mind off it) and i never started tripping....i don't know what caused the intensity...maybe i was slightly anxious...not scared, just excited for it to kick in and just a little nervous because i was afraid of my friends mom coming down stairs when i was tripping...so maybe that's why the sounds sounded intense /:

i'm gonna try to get real acid soon...most likely next weekend.

^^ sorry friend :( Better luck next time.

Im going to close this one alrightY?

Remember next time that set and setting are very important and try not to trip anywhere where you will be forced into uncomfortable interactions with your friends moms... <3 Also make sure that you try to stay calm on the come up, it helps to remember that you took the psych for a reason and to look forward to the experience rather than anticipate it with anxiety (easier said than done.... i know<3)

Nausea and anxiety on psychadelics

I've had LSD twice now and the only problem that i seemed to have whilst on it was the problem with nausea. I know I have an alright stomach, because i never seem to vomit unless i consume some ungodly amount of alcohol, but anyway the problem i noticed with LSD both times was the nausea the body load seemed to bring on. I suffer from that problem that when i get nauseas i start to panic and get really anxious. This is obviously a recipe for disaster and both times now has turned my trip bad. It starts off great, the first 3 hours are bliss then when it starts peaking my stomach starts aching and i start panicing. I never actually puke and most of the time am pretty aware that i'm not going to puke but i literally can't help my body going insane over it.

I need to know of a way around this as i have just recieved some golden top mushrooms from a friend and would love to try a moderate dose. I just want to know if the mushrooms and going to bring out my anxiety and nausea, and is there anyway around it? Would it be better if i just got it out and puked or would that just set off a reaction and leave me puking over and over? I really need to figure out how to work my way around this problem as i really want to experience the beautiful world of psychadelics.

If it helps i never get nauseas/anxious on MDMA, methamphetamine, ketamine, cannabis and the only time i actually remember puking on one of these substances (MDMA) i was so off my head that the nausea and anxiety didn't even kick in, i just threw up and kept on going. Would maybe throwing some stimulants into the mix help with the anxiety/nausea or will polydrug use only make it worse. If it helps i consume cannabis with every other drug as cannabis is a part of my daily life.

I get pretty bad nausea from acid too; really, the only way to avoid panic and anxiety from it, is to realise that it (nausea) will not damage or harm you. Its the simplest way to avoid stressing- if necesary, make yourself vomit- it may feel bad momentarily but often helps me out. That said, nausea from acid is one reason I don't take it a lot these days.

I would be wary of combining any anti-emetic/nausea medicines with psychedelics, as a lot of them intereact with serotonin or dopamine; vomiting is often a result of increased dopaminergic and/or serotonergic activity as many subtypes of serotonin receptors are involved in nasuea and stomach contractions. You could try some ginger or peppermint tea, or a very low dose of Avil or any other tropane based anti-nausea. Be VERY cautiious, as these drugs cause delerium in high doses, and care should taken to avoid that at all costs.

For me it is part of tripping, feeling weird and vomiting go hand in hand with fractal rainbows lol 8)

^Yeah, I went through a period where it was simply a given that I would vomit on a psychedelic. Never really bothered me besides with acid. Indeed, a mass projectivle vomit on 2C-I was both a matter of great surprise and subsequent laughter, as well as giving me the most clean and sparkly feeling inside :)

I guess i would suggest to try laying off the weed for your next trip and see how you go, as weed does intensify the trip and body load. I am also a person who gets pretty paranoid and anxious if i feel sick enough to need to vomit... as i struggle with emetophobia which is a condition where you fear vomiting. Do you fear vomiting even if you are not on drugs and come down feeling sick? Say if you get gastro, or even drink a bit too much..?

I have never vomited on psychedelics, but i have definitely felt pretty damn ill during the body load in my time. I just keep myself busy through that time, make sure there is good music around me and drink plenty of water through that period. Lay off any alcohol or weed through out the body load phase i would say.... i personally start smoking weed when the acid is starting to ease off a little, as it kicks it back on and i get more out of it :) Or ill just take more. Ha!

You'll be fine mate. I have seen friends vomit on acid and not once did it get out of control. If anything, i envied how stronger their trip seemed to be! I am sure if my mind would let me, i would have puked many times... but because of my stupid condition with vomiting, a lot of times when i need to vomit, I cant and end up feeling worse off.

I am just grateful i tend to handle psychedelics really well when it comes to nausea, i feel a lot more in control as compared to if i am on pills etc.

I will say though, mushrooms do tend to trigger nausea even more so than LSD does, so be weary. Start off on a very low dose and slowly take more. Pace it out....

^^ What a great post DFRS <3! Ive always been confused by my own "fear of vomiting," I never knew it was a real thing tho and always just rolled with the nausea when it came, I usually would try to hold down vomit (and yea it does make you feel much worse off) and sometimes when the nausea got intense enough I would just vomit without having any control over it.

I find that I often will avoid psychedelic experiences (much to my boyfriends dismay) to avoid any nauseousness or anxiety that I will have on the come up. On a come up of a trip I like to be sitting, drinking water and to be distracted by friends or music. I find that after 30-40 minutes of uncomfortableness that the nausea will subside and you can simply go about your trip feeling fine.

I find that chewing gum helps a lot with the the nausea. I also must concur that mushrooms have produced more nausea than any other psychedelic for me to date. But in contrast I find that smoking pot alleviates the nausea while making the anxiety worse, I only smoke very small amounts if feeling sick.

You know Karma1485 the beginning part of most psychedelic experiences, there's always this part during the come-on that folks have to deal with; ‘The uncomfortable part and the dreaded nausea (luckily I don't get nausea).

Its just part of the psychedelic ritual, as set and setting plays the biggest part in it too.

Ginger tea helps with nausea with some folks, Compazine (prochlorperazine), Trilafon (perphenazine) and Torecan (thiethylperazine). Your doctor may prescribe sedatives or hypnotics like Valium (diazepam), Ativan (lorazepam) and Marinol (dronabinol -- which comes from the psychoactive part of marijuana, called THC). Some people report success in managing nausea by using medical marijuana. Finally, Kytril (granisetron) and Zofran (ondansteron) are among the newest anti-nausea drugs. If nausea prevents you from taking pills or holding them down, some anti-nausea medications are available as suppositories, which act quickly and reliably. Although cannabis gives certain persons anxiety, and witch should be avoided if that’s the case.

Meditating before the experience, for example telling yourself that; yes I know there is 30 to 40 minuets of un-comfortableness but I also know that after I adjust to my rapidly change into the psychedelic consciousness I will be entering a wonderful place to learn from, Helps allot here.

Just being aware that how we think and our expectations before we journey plays a big part on how we react to any psychedelic experience. We have to in some cases not give in to our negative imagination for doing that can lead to a train wreck with certain personality types. After all we create our reality via our words. Words are what makes the magic work ;-)

Cheers to you and yours

Finally, Kytril (granisetron) and Zofran (ondansteron) are among the newest anti-nausea

To be avoided IMO due to their interaction with 5HT receptors...Also, the phentothiazines you listed are powerful antipsychotics as well as anti-emetics, and could provoke pretty bad pphysial reactions. If I were to use one of that class of substances, it would be promethazine as it has barely any antipsychotics properties, but does decrease nausea.

Yeah I do suffer from emetophobia, but after what you just wrote i now understand the problem. It is the trying to avoid the vomiting and getting through the stage that makes things worse. Next time i think i'll just get it over with and vomit, as everything does feel much better as soon as its over. I was just hoping that vomiting on acid wouldn't be some really scary ordeal and it wouldn't end. Like, when you drink way too much and instead of after vomiting feeling fine and much better you just keep vomiting. If that were to happen to me on psychadelics i'm sure i'd go insane.

I'm dosing 1.5g of the mushrooms to start and will throw another 1g in if the bodyload and nausea aren't too big of a problem. Thanks for the help guys.

I'd go for 2 grams straight away... ive found that slowly dosing shrooms will only prolong the "sick" feeling. And Im glad youve had a change of heart about the whole vomiting issue... its one that I struggle with as well <3
