I have noticed a difference in trips since when I took it at 16, to when I take it now (20). Not in the intensity of the trips, but in my ability to focus my trips. When I was younger, my trips were amazing and I learnt so much, but my head was all over the place and I couldn't focus enough to hold decent conversations or even really keep my thought train going in the same direction. Now that i'm older, I find that I can really focus on things and get more out of it. I've given acid to several first timers, and the younger ones (when i was younger too) found it all very confusing and weird, whereas recently I gave it to two 23 year olds, and I was really suprised at how together they were. I used to think that was more from experience, but now i think its more of an age thing

Well...definitely the more experience you have with psychedelics, and the more you understand yourself and the world around you, the less likely it is that your mind will be blown like it was in younger years. I feel like I'm able to "go further" with psychedelics now than when I was a teenager, I can definitely understand and integrate experiences better, and get more out of my trips. This is especially true since my +4 2C-E trip.

I have a 62 year old roommate who experimented with psychedelics in the late 60's/70's. Since living with him, my boyfriend and I have opened him up to the world of research chemicals, and he seems to be effected to the same degree as us youngins, he still gets strong sensory and mental effects, although he hasn't reported much of a body-load with substances such as 2C-E and 2C-T-7. It's interesting tripping with someone with SO MUCH experience and knowledge!

I also think that when *first* taking a psychedelic, a younger person might be more open to the lessons psychedelics have to teach, as opposed to someone who is older and more set in their ways. The Tim Leary quote says this well...

I used to drop LSD all the time when I was a wee youngin. I think the first time I dropped I was 13. Over the next year or so, I tripped about 75 times. Had a large group of friends tripping every weekend. Those were some great times. The first time was INCREDIBLE! I will never forget that day. I thought I'd never come down. Then, one day, we all just quit.

I dropped again a few times between 15 and 19, but never like I used to. Now I'm 28 and I haven't dropped LSD in nearly 10 years! I've rolled and shroomed here and there, but never got back into LSD. Anyway, I recently scored some high quality blotters and tucked them away for the future. If and when I decide to take them, I'll get back to you on the differences =)

Those spiderman tabs were the shit! I took 4 at the beach with my friend and we spent the day building the sweetest sand castles ever.

age of first effective psychedelic experience?

yea, you heard it right folks
age of first effective psychedelic experience as well as substance and perhaps synopsis.

I will post back later. I'm too stoned to possibly remember this genius thread if i don't create it now

18 years old. First psychedelic experience of any kind (barring Coricidin, the worst possible source of DXM, during age 17, which was delerious, not psychedelic). The substance was mushrooms. It was the perfect trip, a total spiritual awakening that changed the course of my life forever. :)

A brief outline or general view, as of a subject or written work; an abstract or a summary.
this helps

I was 14 yo. (LSD) The energy. Riding bikes w/ best friends. Having friend give themselves to me in the ocean. And opening my mouth or word of mouth from others...."ooooooh you treeipping."

Those fuckin' cunts. Labeled largely under the heading of "counter culture"....can take a fuckin hike.......aka the 60's and the hippie movement.
My upbringing didn't include a user interface for the drugs. Nowadays, alone, I can't seem to find enough things to do to keep me busy. I'm not entirely a dependant personality. And I'm a reformed criminal. And my religion includes a dynamic for entities/universes/supernatural, the next dynamic is infinity.
I think moderate doses of psychedelics are best used for hiking, exploring, boating, biking, snowboarding, driving car/truck/superbike, fabrication of "things", the sex, fun in the water, music, studying.
I refuse to come into any context conclusion i.e. straying too far from cause/effect emanating at cause/distance/effect and in turn going effect/distance/cause. I like communicable expression and stress it.

13 about 2 grams of mushroom shake from the bottom of the bag i definately noticed i was feeling a little different=D

15 - weed... i was so stoned that I was unable to walk straight, audio visual hallucinations,my friend had lizard tongue and face from sand 8o

16- lsd

15 - LSA's, but really, I think the first REAL psychedelic experience was mushrooms, also at 15. That trip changed me forever, I believe... in a good way. <3

15 - 2CE
16 - LSD
17 - Mushrooms

2CE was probably the hardest one to deal with, having never tripped before that. I didn't get much more from it than 'damn I feel weird' and 'oooh shit look at the roof'

Mushrooms were the most 'effective' for me.

Depends how you define "effective", if you mean changed my viewpoint in any real way, especially in any significant way then I would have to say it hasn't happened yet (unless you count nearly a year of persisting mild hallucinations/visual disturbances). If you however mean truly experienced psychedelia then I was 17 and it was on good old psilocybe subaeruginosa (psilocybin and psilocin, probably a few other interesting little chemicals in there like baeocystin but you get the point).
Go shroomery, teaching any fucker willing to put in the time how to experience psychedelics with no hookups for them haha.

At 15 years old I first smoked Cannabis. It was extremely psychedelic. For the first few years I smoked pot I could easily have out of body experiences, experienced cartoony visuals, and massive inebriation.

I believe I was 17 when I first took 50 morning glory seeds. I had light visuals and experienced some wonderful energy flowing through me. It was certainly psychedelic and got me very interested in "real" psychedelics.

LSD at 16 - one hit.

My first trip wasnt enlightening, just chilled with 2 friends and then went to a small party. It was fun, but nothing as spiritual or intense as subsequent trips with higher doses.
