The Big & Dandy 4-HO-MET Thread

^ Well, I think all tryptamines have some sort of body high, but it can be milder for some substances than others. With mushrooms, for example, I find that the body high is very mild, but still present. Same for 4-AcO-DMT. Iprocin/ipracetin also have a more subtle body buzz in my experience, but the rest of the tryptamines I've tried have quite strong body vibrations.

I didn't like this effect much either at first, but have learned to enjoy it a lot since then. It was never unpleasant or anything for me, mostly just annoying and perhaps somewhat distracting.

also: would anyone care to elaborate on this "buzzing"? i keep seeing it mentioned, but having never tried DMT or any tryptamine for that matter other than mushrooms, i don't know what it refers to. a buzzing sound? a feeling?
for some reason the word "buzzing" doesn't sound all too pleasant. seems like it would scare me or something.

The buzzing for me is a feeling AND a sound. I never mistake the experience as external noise. That said, with 4HoMET the buzz reminded me of the firework that explodes into hundreds of sparkles, that sparkle and spread out. The buzz feels and sounds like that. It feels great to me. Then as the experience really sets in the buzz starts to twist the nimbus that I see around myself when dreaming. The buzz becomes the wringing of my soul, releasing all sorts of strange colors, some comforting, some not so, yet I always emerge better for it.

There is cross-tolerance between all serotonergic psychedelics to a large degree because they all work their magic mainly on the 5HT2A receptor subtype, and tolerance is the product of receptor downregulation.

^ How about a combination? :D I would imagine it might be very interesting, although if you're not experienced with both of these substances (taken both of them at least a couple of times, that is), it is probably not the best idea to combine them just yet.

^ Yeah, I was very excited to try this myself, but now that I have, I must say I'm somewhat unimpressed. It is an interesting substance for sure, but greatly lacking in depth, I feel. I am still hoping that will improve at higher doses (I've currently taken it up to 25mg), or in combination with other substances. I am particularly interested in 4-HO-MET + DPT combo for some reason, will certainly try it as soon as I get ahold of some DPT.

I tried some 4-ho-met for the first time yesterday. Small dose, 15mgs. Nice OEVs, especially during the later part of the trip. The body load wasn't fun though. I was a little twitchy and a little shaky. I took a bike ride and that seemed to help the body load. Orgasm was heavenly and long.

My friend told me he took 60mgs oral and 15mgs more up the nose yesterday. We weren't together. He loved it. Said that there was like an energetic mist over everything and that he could move it and play with it.

... Well, I must say it's much better with weed, come-up was way less uncomfortable

what's uncomfortable about the come up on 4homet or tryptamines in general? is it similar to the nausea/gas associated with phenethylamines?

^ Well, I did experience slight nausea when coming up on 4-HO-MET, but I get that on most psychedelics, and it's way less of an issue with most tryptamines than it is with phenethylamines. I was mostly referring to the general roughness of the come-up of something with a relatively short onset - it was just generally uncomfortable and basically floored me until I reached the plateau. Weed, however, eliminated most of those rough edges and made the come-up way less uncomfortable.

I only ever experience SLIGHT nausea on the come up, but weed fixes that. I find the body buzz on 4-HO-MET was great, really nice and euphoric for me, more so than MDMA (Now anyway lol). I've tried doses up to 90mg oral and it was the most revelatory trip yet. Its probably my favorite psychedelic to date.

This stuff is very mental.

today i took some for a trip which became very nice and very mental.
So i was looking for the truth and it shows me.
And it scares me.

But i'm glad it shows me

^ Can you define "some"? As in what is the dose you took it at? Personally, I've found metocin to be very benign mentally, mostly eye candy and body high, although I did notice some cognitive enhancement and shift in perspective, so it definately has potential IMO. It just didn't reveal much of it at the doses I've tried so far (up to 25mg orally).

Wow, that's interesting. Can you please elaborate what kind of truth you were looking for and what you found (if it's not too personal of course)?

I am certainly with you there in that metocin does seem to have potential for some cognitive and spiritual work, and I received hints of it even at the lowest dose I've tried it at (15mg), it's just that most of it's analogs (other 4-substituted tryptamines) seem to be way more efficient at it IMO.

I dunno if it's the modafinil which change the effect. but it was a lot less visual than previous time.
I could have been satisfied with nice thinking, but it helps me to find the truth.

It only helps me. I can't say you will live the same by taking 10 mg of this. You need to search for the truth to find it anyway.

I was terrified indeed.

I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, but I've got some questions about nasal administration of 4-HO-MET.

How can I expect the effect to differentiate itself from that of oral administration? I assume it's shorter and slightly more powerful. Any rough numbers?

Also, the 4-HO-MET we have access to is off-white, slightly blue-gray-ish and rather rocky (large grains). Which salt form is this, and can it be snorted readily?

Thanks in advance.

@Mjall -
You cannot determine the salt type by color. However, its most likely the fumarate.
