The Big and Dandy LSD/Acid Questions Thread III- 'The Bicycle Trip'

Ok, so I'm going to do lsd for the first time, and I've discovered as much as I can about the drug.
However, my question is: What kind of playlist should I make to listen to?
I'm thinking of listening to The Beatles, Oasis, and Fray
That sound good? Any other suggestions?

beatles are good, especially revolver. i don't know oasis or fray. i have a dedicated acid playlist that has been tried and apreciated many times. it also includes jethro tull, some floyd (piper at the gates of dawn!), early genesis, some jefferson airplane, many more and of course the grateful dead! dark star is simply amazing beyond belief on acid :)

psytrance (especially goa trance) is also good when tripping. but electronic music is best at the beginning of the trip when you're more energetic. after the peak i prefer more mellow non-electronic music.

You said trance at the beginning... how long should i listen to trance from when I take it. About 1 hr or so?

^it's YOUR experience!, do what YOU want with it.. someone can sit here and tell you to listen to "Track 02" at +43min but when it comes down to it, who knows what kind of mood you'll be in.. except for yourself!

i mean, you may end up feeling like listening to some Slayer during your peak.. but whatever you end up doing, let yourself be comfortable, feel natural.. and act out what comes to your mind, whatever that may be, fulfill whatever fantasy comes up in your thoughts at that specific time.. whether that be balling yourself up in every blanket you've got in your house or rolling around in your backyard grass with your dog, do what you want!... most importantly, take it all in! absorb everything that comes at you and project those feelings into something YOU LOVE, something that will make you feel at home and right, have fun too! <3

edit: if your confused about the come-up period in regards to your question, it can be anywhere from +30min-1hr that you should start rising on up and around then is when.. if you want to.. blast some trance on out of your speakers

A question, I has one.

I know how to store blotter, BUT

If I had some L that's been layed on candy, what's the best way to store it long term?

Would it be the same as storing the blotter or different because it's on candy?

Thanks in advance.

i doesn't matter where the lsd has been put on. store in an airtight container, protect from light and water and freeze it.

No matter what your LSD is laid on the only thing you are trying to prevent from being degraded is the LSD.... so it is always the same precautions you would take for any method of storing (Blotter, Cubes, Liquid, SweetTarts....etc)

I actually enjoy Oasis a lot on psychedelics for some reason, probably because I enjoy them a lot when not on psychedelics. Pick music that you really love and see how it sounds. The best thing to do is to experiment with all different kinds of music and figure out what sounds best.
Some suggestions of mine
The whole Dark Side of the Moon
Grateful Dead - Terrapin Station
Pink Floyd - Echoes
Beatles - Norwegian Wood
Oasis - Cast No Shadow
Steve Miller Band - Wintertime
Jimi - Purple Haze
Allman Brothers - Ramblin Man or Jessica

these are just a few of my favorites, but like I said EXPERIMENT

Physical effect of tripping on older people

Just curious but is there any danger of a person having a heart attack if their of older age when injesting lsd? What are the physical dangers if a person is lets say 65. Is there any more danger than a 20 year old? thx for the help

well, if they are disposed to these sorts of things, it may be contradicted for them.

I'm curious what others have to say as I have never seen reports of this. I'm pretty sure Strassman's DMT studies had some older folks (and I know he screened some folks out with heart problems).

LSD can have a bit of a body push...I'd say a safer alternative is low dose mushrooms, but even that one can have a body push, especially in beginning trippers.

Anyways, curious about other's thoughts...

^ Track 6 is generally the best track on quality albums IME. & I personally like it to commence at +42 minutes.

:D

i can't tell if i'm being mocked or praised? maybe both

Well me and my s/o are 53 and 58 respectively, in good nick physically and mentally. We regularly do MDMA + K and about 4 times a year dance our pants off at psytrance parties on 200-300ug LSD.

Our recovery time is about zero (we take it easy the next day, but when you've been up bonking or dancing til 7 in the morning, it makes sense to go easy on the body and soul).

Better to drop dead on the dance floor than to be found slumped in front of the telly with a can of beer in one hand and a packet of crisps in the other =D

Hope this life goes on forever. Actually, we both find LSD very easy on the body, and cleansing for our psyches. I suspect the E will be the first to go. Probably the K next. But the Acid .....nevvvvvver :)

Well, there would be more 'possibility' of danger, simply due to the effects of age; but many a spritely 65 year old would have dropped acid. Theres not much chance you'll have a heart attack; keep in mind that of the millions of millions of people that have dropped acid, theres been only one fatality from injecting. Generally, LSD is safe, though as S_S so gayly said, if you already HAVE these conditions, then extra caution must be taken.

Tripping music

Different strokes for different folks....

Stuff I like: I'm a psytrance nut, so that is mostly what I listen to... But I also like stuff like Cream, Canned Heat, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zep, soundtracks like Bladerunner, the Big Blue, classical on occasion, Frank Zappa has had me in hysterics - varies with every trip, part of the trip... I'd make a tracklist of very different stuff...

The Grateful Dead have completely turned a dark trip towards the light several times and the "bootleg" tapes are just amaaaaazing to listen to. Far better than a valium, can't recommend them strongly enough.

Try to keep in your mind that along with the thirst, hunger, and need for the loo as the major things that can make you uncomfortable, it may quite likely be the music. Get your arse up and change it.

Canned heat are fucking class, I can't believe I've never thought of listening to them whilst tripping. Mid- trip I like to put on 'Terrapin station' by the dead because it's such a big journey in itself and if I get some alone time it's brilliant. But I have a kind of unwritten rule that when I have my music set to random that I can't change whatever song comes on as I'm interrupting the flow of the trip. It's a bit of a problem as it can change a time of introspection into joyous laughter. But hey, isn't that what it's all about?

that implies that track 1 is 43 minutes long. the only song i know that's 43 mins long is "thick as a brick". playing thick as a brick is always a good idea, so i agree.
