The BDD Quiz Part II: Congrats to our first ever winner Polymath.

^ Haha that doesn't always happen with PCP :D but yeah. I see where you are coming from. I prefer my dissociatives to render me unable to move, prevents mishaps. Last time I had MXE I ended up with an interesting assortment of scrapes and bruises, and a slightly trashed flat..

Anyway. Onto the next question :D

Is it that it has higher BA by the oral route than by any other because it's actively transported?

Ding ding ding!

I shouldn't give hints like saying "alllllmost" haha but I kinda wanted to give Vader half a point. I'm so shit at this quiz, hehe, might leave it up to Trips from now on..

But yep good work Sepher! :) storming ahead...

You're shit at this quiz? My questions can be pretty... well... questionable...

Question:

Which grunge rocker was supposedly given LSD at the tender age of 4 by her father?

Question:

Which illicit substance can be used as a treatment for glaucoma?

Question: Why is ketamine often used as an anaesthetic for paediatric patients but not nearly as often for adults?

Is it because its much less likely to make you throw up, I could use fancy words but I leave that to the medically trained, also it has less affect on the respiratory system and blood flow issues to the brain than alternatives

^^^

from that hyper speed research it seems like a bit of a contentious issue in some circles

Bzzzzzt!

It does have much less respiratory depression than most anaesthetic/sedative agents.. but this is the same for children and adults.

^^^

Ohhh your a tricky one you are, this one looks far to finicky for me, and I'd tried to slip in more than one reason as well;)

Haha I didn't spot that (been up for a while now hehe..)

Seeing as you are not allowed to guess again til another person has guessed I think giving multiple possible answers is definitely not allowed! Wait your turn Mr atm (you were correct with your information though :) ketamine is really useful as an anaesthetic agent, especially in an emergency, as it doesn't cause significant respiratory depression or nausea - although the nausea isn't universal)

Haha no worries :D have a guess at the quiz while you are here!

12mg clonazepam would have me asleep for days I think, hehe..

Is Ketamine not used in adults because it's likely to cause an emergence reaction? But other anesthetics like Propofol aren't used in children due to respiratory depression risks
