Aright, from all my bluelight reading fiascos I have come to consider myself a fairly well informed drug user. From my understanding ive always thought that LSD leaves the body and its GONE (none of that lodging in your spinal cord BS was true)
However, someone i happen to respect told me that it had to be somewhere, because when you go in the airforce they do some test where they know whether or not youve dont LSD, because if you have, you cant fly the planes. Now it seems kind of silly to me, but this girl swore up and down that it was true (she happens to be in the air force too)
It seemed like bunk because the only reason i could think that LSD would affect you flying a plane is flashbacks, in which case rape victems should fly planes either, or anyone else who has EVER experienced ANYTHING traumatic, but you guys know better than I...
So is it bunk? Or is the LSD somewhere?

Let me answer your question with the truth. And I can assure you that what I say is absolutely true.
When you enter the military, they ask about past drug use. Once you are in, whether enlisted or officer, you are subject to random drug tests at any time. In these tests, they test for the standard 5 drugs.
There is absolutely no test administered by the military to test for past LSD use. If you are interested in flying, you are subject the to same rules as everybody else. Admitting to previous use of psychadellic drugs is grounds for dismissal, depending on the individual circumstance.
The myth about LSD remaining in your system for years is not true. The only real problem that can result from heavy LSD use is a flashback that can certainly occur at any time in the future. But, those of you who have ever experienced this, you probably know that having one is simply amusing and not any more dangerous than sneezing while you are driving a car down the road, if you recognize what is going on.

I am in the Air Force, and not only do they not do a test for LSD in your system, they really CAN'T do a test like that.
Like the poster above me said, they ask you if you had done drugs before. If you openly admit to it you are dismissed. If you dont admit to it, and you don't have it on your records somewhere, they can't know.
