I wish I could find a non-liberal source for this.
To me it seems INSANE to judge the leader of a nation based on such physical traits.
It appears that like many people of his age, he periodically makes a concerted effort to lose some weight. Like many people he may not be telling the truth about his weight but then I don't consider it to be an issue that would be important to anyone but him and those who care about his health.
If I'm honest, it's the way that Donald Trump's skin tone seems to fluctuate so much that is disconserting.
I include the above link purely because in the UK at least, many of the large bookmaker chains really were offering odds on what hue Donald Trump would be for his inauguration.
I don't hold it against anyone if they feel that makeup gives them increased confidence and makes them happier. It's in no way harming me and if if makes them happy, that can only be a good thing. But what has always confused me is that someone with so much wealth could surely afford an expert makeup artist? It just seems a bit odd that Donald Trump seems to believe we don't realize he is wearing makeup. It's not as if it's uncommon among public figures. I suggest that in the television era, most if not all previous US presidents employed makeup artists. Even members of the public who appear on quiz shows undergo at least some asthetic modifications.
But if someone is photographed multiple times every single day, it becomes painfully obvious that barring certain medical conditions*, it's simply not possible for someone's skin tone to change so much over such short periods of time. It just looks odd to me.
Now there was a famous British playwright called Dennis Potter who suffered from psoriasis for his entire life. The treatment at the time consisted of a drug that sensitized his skin in combination with a form of UV therapy. So his skin tone was always slightly unusual. I don't mention this out of malice but rather that I have to wonder why someone would apparently apply their own makeup without asking a third party if it matched and that it was consistant. I appreciate that it's unlikey Donald Trump has such a disorder but it just seems... well, odd. But I don't judge him on such a silly metric; it just concerns me slightly.
After all, surely if it was purely vanity, he WOULD ensure it was consistant? But then I don't wear makeup so I'm really not in a position to know.
