US Politics the 2025 trump presidency thread

Why wouldn't they just pocket the money from the taxes and keep sending jobs overseas

You think they wouldn't just take the money and keep it? Have you heard of stock buybacks? They want all the money they can get, cut the taxes and they say thanks and give the US the finger and keep sending jobs overseas

tariffs are obviously great for u.s. consumers and the u.s. market responded by jumping dropping 337 points. er, never mind.

well, at least most economists agree tariffs are a good thing right? let's check in with them:

is there anybody here who can make the case that these tariffs are actually a good thing for the u.s. consumer, that canada, mexico and china pay for them and that trump's not a fucking idiot who doesn't understand them? anybody?

Hey, we're just lucky to have a job, right? We're lucky our betters just don't take their balls and leave.
Wait! They have been doing it all through tax cuts for them under every Republican President since Nixon.
That rising tide doesn't seem to have floated everybody's boat.

Of course TDS is not an actual syndrome. It’s just the gut dislike for the man because of the conditioning that has been done on the Left. Give the man his Cabinet and let Trump do what he was elected to do. He had as big of a mandate as you get in this world today.

this is just bullshit. but i'll give you a chance to prove me wrong.

so i have a gut dislike of trump only because i am conditioned?

who has conditioned me? and how? tell me. which sources do i use and how exactly are they conditioning me? show your work please. and thank you.

i enumerated some of the reasons i have problems with trump back in 2021. i could add hundreds of things to that list today, not least the procession of woefully unqualified, underqualified and, in some cases simply corrupt, people he's nominated for important positions.

i'm not in the senate so i have no control over his cabinet picks. it's also not possible for me to let or not let trump do what he was elected to do. i already did my part. i did not vote for him.

as a u.s. citizen and it's not only my right, it's my responsibility, to question the president. when i became a u.s. citizen, i swore to support and defend the u.s. constitution. there was nothing in the oath about supporting the president.

this is laughable nonsense.

trump's 2024 margin of victory was the 4th smallest since 1960. he had no more a mandate that biden had.
