True, neither did I. I am just saying, greatest of all time? What about some past presidents who were not in our lifetimes? FDR was great. Lincoln and Washington were great. Even if one believes Trump was great, greatest of all time seems like a hell of a stretch.

The only truly historic event to happen during his presidency was the covid19 pandemic and his response to that wasn't great, to put it mildly. It was the one opportunity for him to live up to the kind of strong leadership that he fetishizes, and during the entire event he looked like he'd rather talk about anything BUT the pandemic

I'm not a Lincoln scholar. I've never been interested in history. I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually racist. He certainly had a questionable fashion sense. If Trump wore a hat like that and rocked that beard, he would have been ripped apart like wet tissue paper.
As for Washington, he didn't live in the White House... The quote you are responding to is "the greatest president to ever step foot in the White House". I'm sure George probably did enter the building, but he was an ex-president at the time. So, he doesn't count.
FDR I will concede was a "better" president, but that's just my opinion. This is all subjective. At the end of the day, it depends what your measure of greatness is.
Trump separated himself from pretty much all other presidents throughout history. He proved that change is possible and that the US political system is not stagnant. He is (in my opinion), going to be remembered as one of the most influential presidents of all time... for better or worse.
JFK tried to initiate change and they killed him. I think people on the left mourned for the change more than the man. Kennedy's assassination was a symbol: it proved that democracy was an illusion and change was impossible.
Trump was a weird unpredictable maverick. He was a fascinating experiment. I think a lot of the appeal, for me, was how interesting it was watching his presidency unfold.
Biden is about as interesting as watching paint dry.

I’ve always kinda liked Grant. For a long time he was viewed as one of the worst presidents because of how corrupt his administration was, but he actually believed in equality between blacks and whites, and he lived those beliefs/tried to help freedmen in the South in a genuine and admirable way imo.
The story of his death and how he tried to support his family to the very end, even as he was destitute and dying of throat cancer, was very sad and poignant too. He seemed like a flawed but fundamentally decent man, which was ironic considering the reputation he got during the Civil War

Since Biden’s installation drunpf seems to have been really quiet. This could be bc the oligarchs/technocrats silenced him, but at least he’s still running things. Neo con/lib Liz cheney is gone thanks to him, and hopefully many rinks to follow. And she’s polling so low that it would be too hard for them to rig her election IMO. Since our elections aren’t fair and most Republicans and independents do not feel the last election was legitimate I don’t see where we go from here. That’s truly the ultimate form of voter suppression, it’s certainly worse that requiring an ID to vote or not providing refreshments for folks standing in line. It still blows my mind that white neo liberals think African Americans are too dumb or poor to obtain an ID. You can’t function in society without one, yet needing it for our most important institution is a bridge too far? The racism of low expectations is just so disgusting and smug it’s hard for me to even think about. Regardless I hope drumpf keeps doing what he’s doing and helps to oust every last RINO neo con!
