US Politics The 2021 Former President Trump Thread - I look very much forward to showing my financials, because they are huge.

"Why do we need a third party? We have the Republican party"

That's definitely true lol

A gender-neutral potato! Could you imagine such an abomination?! :ROFLMAO:

It was probably too much to hope trump would start his own party. Even he knows it would completely tank whatever shred of a remaining chance at reelection.

Actually it wouldn't surprise me at all if he was initially considering it before an adult explained to him that it would just give democrats a decade long federal dominance.

But eh, trump voters will believe anything they're told.

:ROFLMAO:

Yeah, something tells me that it's Trump's party now

Someone really needs to put together a highlight reel of CPAC 2021

from 4 U.S. Code § 8.Respect for flag

"The flag should never be used as wearing apparel..."

alasdair

Much as I'd love to side with you over the orange idiot, unfortunately this is something where I think a lot of people must understand the flag code.

Putting aside that it's voluntary for nongovernmental entities which you probably already know, it likely also only refers to actual, full size flags.

Soo, an item of clothing made to resemble the flag isn't actually a flag under the context of the flag code.

What the code says is "No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.

Read in its full context, it's saying you shouldn't make clothing out of an actual flag. Like a proper full size flag. Wearing an item of clothing made to look like the flag is probably not a violation any more than a lapel pin.

Nevertheless. It's still really tacky and I'd prefer people exercise more tact in their patriotism.

i think it's open to interpretation - and i think there is a double-standard at play - but, that tacky statue is a long, long way from a flag patch being worn by a member of the service.

alasdair

Oh it's unbelievably tacky. It screams trump in that way.

It makes me a bit sad actually, I really hate tacky over the top patriotism. For a long time I really wasn't a fan of how over the top and tacky Australians got about showing patriotism, with flag face paint and flag capes (which, if it were a real flag actually would be breaking the flag code).

I generally liked that for the most part Americans showed their patriotism more respectfully.

Buuut now we have trump, and trump supporters are about as respectfully patriotic as a horned shirtless man breaking into the capital.

I remember in 2008 when the right was soooo upset that Obama was using his personal logo in his advertising rather than the flag. But look at the trumpists now.

As far as the actual law. As you know the flag code is advisory, and generally only self enforced by government entities, which means it's not likely to be going to court for the court to rule exactly where the line is. But I suspect if they did they'd find that it's not meant to apply to flag themed clothing.

Trump loves the flag, I'll have you know!

I have absolutely no doubt that most of trumps die hard supporters are such traitors that trump could advocate starting his own country, as an enemy of the United States, and they'd still side with him.

I mean they're already pretty close to that seeing as they side with trump over the constitution and attack the seat of American government.

You don't understand Jess, they love America SO MUCH that they're willing to form a new Real America and destroy Fake America.

Mmm, they love America so much they won't let anything get in the way of her success. Not even America!

Laws, the constitution, democracy, the concept of rights other than gun rights and the right to scream about how victimized you are as a white man, all of it is in the way of America's future!

Lol wasghinton post admitted they lied about trumps phone calls suck it sheep.

Uhh, no. They admired they were wrong about one specific quote in one of trumps phone calls.

Rofl, that you call people sheep while blindly repeating shit is hilarious.

When was the last time trump issued a correction on something he'd said? Oh right never. So either you think Trump is a God, and is never wrong.

Or you accept he's even less honest or reliable than the "lying fake news media".

You don't need to reply, I know which one you believe. :D

I love the blacks, hate shit hole countries though. Shit, I forgot to bribe this prostitute. Hopefully Giuliani will get me out of this one before she blackmails me.
