Spoken like a true libertarian. Right on! I think that the whole government is a waste of taxpayers money. My dream is to have the government privatized and run entirely for profit by cooperations like Chuck E Cheese.
It's insanity like this that caused me to abandon libertarianism. Even if I agree with a lot of the principles in theory, in practice people go to such insane extremes with them that I wanna jump ship.
This is always the problem, people, IMO immature people, find a belief system that initially appeals to them, then the human need to form groups and insist in extremes kicks in, and rather than agreeing with the principle because it matches their moral beliefs, they start warping their moral beliefs to match the principle.
So they for instance start supporting libertarianism for the entirely reasonable beliefs that freedom is should and as much freedom as possible should be attempted to maximize human quality of life.
Then over a few years they have become so taken in, usually by defending their beliefs and "othering" other beliefs and associating with other libertarians, they come to home opinions that would destroy human quality of life, because that's long since stopped being the goal.
Libertarianism was supported to try and support the goal of human quality of life, then it becomes so extreme they oppose all sorts of quality of life policies because they now support libertarianism because that's what they believe and what they believe is right.
Young kids who openly fight for and call themselves socialists and thing any number of crazy ideas are no different. Those extremist neonazis aren't much different.
Shitty and broken human psychology causes people to start agreeing with the label because that's their group and they feel defensive of it and the need to outdo others in their loyalty to it. Rather than their original reasons for aligning to the label which is that it spoke to them by agreeing with very generalized easily defended positions.
The devils in the details, if you insist on loyalty to a political philosophy you're pretty much certain to wind up advocating for concept that are harmful to human society.
Which is why the good of human society is the only concept I try to be loyal to. And I avoid considering myself a part of any particular political label/group.
You can still be my court wizard when I play princesses though. :D
