I'm happy to live on my irrelevant island, but I've been all over the world including many US states and I lived in London for a long time. I find it baffling that I know more about US politics than most Americans. Perhaps that indicates there is something wrong with me. I find the US fascinating, but I wouldn't want to live there.

I'm sure NZ is irrelevant to your life. We aren't the biggest economy in the world. A lot of US citizens apparently don't know anything about their own country and don't know anything about the rest of the world either. At the end of the day, we contained the virus. You didn't. People don't get shot dead by cops here. The streets aren't riddled with crime. Strangely enough, the most livable cities in the world aren't in the US.

I live in Wellington. Despite being a city in an irrelevant country, we have made it to the number one spot on a number of lists for the most livable city in the world. (https://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-po...ed-most-liveable-city-for-second-year-running)

Auckland (our biggest city) is often in the top 10. Whereas there are basically never any US cities in the top 20. Like I said, bro. Happy to be irrelevant.

As for Obama murdering people, apparently you've never heard of the drone wars. But, hey, he didn't pull the trigger right? And neither did Hitler. So, Hitler didn't murder any Jews I guess?

Listen up. Politically speaking (please do take those words into account): I'd have to dig real deep to take anything you posted after that seriously politically speaking.

Ask Angela Merkel, or the Austrians, or most of the other EU States just how happy they are NOW with their left wing open border policies! This is not news! It's OLD news! And Trump is the only one that stood up and said "not on my watch" (not quoting him directly but you get the picture I'm sure) and actually tried to do something about it. That is "America First". And why this is such an issue for the left is beyond me. It really and truly is. And let's take my own far right wing ideologies out of the picture here for a minute because for the greater good of America they're actually irrelevant i.e. this is more about reality and practicality and economics. Who exactly is going to employ all of these immigrants (no matter where they're from)? Best part (under the NOW Democrats): they'll be legal. So guess who is going to be footing the bill for their well being? Come on. This is not rocket science. No way the NOW Democrats are going to go anti-establishment or anti-Wall Street and force American companies to bring their production etc. back to the US. It's not on their agenda. And never will be. So if this election holds (forever the optimist I am): you're now going to increase the population in an instant by eleven million people (in reference to the eleven million that are already illegal immigrants) (let alone the millions that will follow) and they're all going live happily ever after and with jobs and housing and benefits the rest?

maybe that's because you elect intelligent, capable, progressive leaders instead of buffoons like Donald Trump.

I cannot speak for my other two comrades (dare I call them that?). But speaking for me personally: you should be happy that somebody actually gives a shit what happens to America (as I do). You shouldn't be calling them idiots.

Bear in mind something: there are other people, outside of America, who have watched certain scenarios play themselves out and can see what's coming because they've lived it. Americans (and this is by no means meant to be offensive) are not known for looking much further than what's going on beyond their own borders (which is quite ironic given the subject matter).

You're right. People weren't being shot dead by cops under any other administration and the streets weren't riddled with Crime under Obama. I forgot everything is Trump's fault. Silly me.

I have consistently said throughout this thread and others that Trump's handling of the COVID situation was terrible, but so was every single state government. If you look at the numbers, democratic states did worse than republican states. Constitutionally, it is up to each state to dictate social distancing etc. Furthermore, the American people (and American businesses) agressively oppossed lockdown. The US failure to contain COVID is on all of your heads...

Ignoring all that, Trump's failure to contain the China virus doesn't have anything to do with whether or not the Obama administration committed war crimes.

It's not off topic. Trump is the US president. Obama was the previous president. @TheInvisibleStoner criticized Trump for not going to Vietnam. He said he shouldn't be allowed to be president because he's a draft dodger. I'm merely pointing out that Obama murdered children and (perhaps?) it is better to hire someone that chose not to go to a bullshit war and murder innocent Vietnamese people than someone who blew up Pakistani children. Trump (relative to other presidents) is not a murderer.

Explain to me how that's off topic.

Funny how the democratic states did worse than the republican states. I guess democratic governers are influenced more by Trump than republicans?

Yes, silly you. Obama had obstructionist Republicans in Congress thwarting his plans his entire Presidency. Even when Dems controlled the Senate, Obama tried to be bipartisan and they still fucked him.

You live in a country half the size of New York City. You have a democratic socialist leader. Free healthcare, education, paid time off, who knows what else. And you spend your free time defending the guy who is actively trying to destroy our democracy.

Like I said, it's just a tv show to some people.
