US Politics The 2020 Trump Presidency Thread

Status
Not open for further replies.
This thread can be closed now I think. There is no 2020 Trump :)

2021 Trump becomes just like you and I, and will be going to jail for all the crimes he has committed.

Exactly. You really don't need to be a doctor to understand that disinfectants work by KILLING SHIT.

Which means they work great outside the body, but you most certainly can't use them to make anything better inside the body.

Fuck knows why the media distorted what he said when what he said was already moronic anyway. Probably just to make it easier to follow in a single sentence. Cause people hate any information that takes any longer than that to process.
I think you're just messing with me (us) now. The above is quite a turnaround from yesterday's posts on the same topic not? <3 Do we have a convert here? :ROFLMAO: If so: my work on this earth is done i.e. I've saved but one person from the dark side and brought them unto Trump! Lol!

On a serious note once again:

I hope somebody is going to do a study at some point to see if addicts were more or less likely to contract COVID and were more or less likely to survive it. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that there's more than a few around here that are injecting various solvents e.g. +70% ethanol (and fuck knows what else). Who knows. (I don't know of anybody around here who has tried to inject Clorox as a part of their dosing regimen though so there's that) (which just goes to show that addicts are more intelligent than more than a few then wouldn't you say?) (and pretty much what @birdup.snaildown was saying in an earlier post too).

I don't think so (not that I have any control over the matter but it'd be a travesty given that, thus far anyway, and surprisingly given the topic, everyone on the thread has been more than civil and it's an interesting discussion) (and I still wouldn't be so sure about 2021).

Much as I'd loooove to close it. Trumps term ends Jan 20 not in November. :(

Seeing as they're annually restarted threads it would have been closed in January anyway.

It's just now there won't be a new one. This insane reality shows been canceled.

Well there is a theory floating around (and which I lean toward agreeing with) that nowadays: if something cannot be said or written in 280 characters or less, this being Twitter's character limit, then anything over that is incomprehensible!

I thought it was lower than that.
I wouldn't know I've never used Twitter.

It's not true obviously. It's only the case that the world is full of idiots that struggle with complex ideas.

Hell, one of thems president!

I'm actually joking there, as I said earlier I don't think trumps as dumb as he acts, just that he's also not as smart as others thing.

It seems pretty clear his problem is a severe attention deficit disorder. I suspect he actually literally can't read anything beyond 280 characters without getting too bored and distracted to continue.

It's easy enough to just rename it in January e.g. "The 2016 - 2024 Trump Presidency Thread".

If you get REALLY lucky: "The 2016 - 2028 Trump Presidency Thread". You know: could be he pulls off a Vladimir type move!

Last time I used it the limit was 140 characters (only because that was the same limit as a text message at the time apparently). But it was increased to 240 not that long ago if memory serves me correctly.

Not true. How many times have you seen him continue a tirade that has spanned multiple consecutive Twitter messages? 😂

He has no trouble rambling on forever about shit no. I'm saying he has big problems sitting down and reading shit like say... Briefings, situation reports. Stuff presidents kinda need to be able to do. Because he can't focus.

Probably some kind of ADD.

We don't like threads getting too long. It creates issues for the higher ups apparently. I'm not really in a position to go into specifics. In part cause I don't know the specifics. ;)

Its going to be so great seeing him walk away with his head down. And then get handcuffed immediately.

Or maybe he will try and fight it and get another case or two added to his charges.

Oh, he is still on twitter grasping for straws. Wow. Was kinda out of the loop the past 48 hours, but figured he knows he lost by now. But nope, still crying. Like the big baby draft dodger born with a silver spoon.

Saddly it ain't gonna happen.

Here's my predictions
75% chance, he quietly stops resisting or otherwise doesn't put up a fight beyond empty words on Twitter, and that will be his narcissist version of a concession.

20% he resists more strongly for longer, but still leaves of his own accord before Jan 20.

5% he resists all the way, and on Jan 20 we get word that he has left been escorted from the white house. There will be no handcuffs, no cameras, no footage. "escorted" being the choice of words will be as dramatic as it gets.

0.0001% anything else.

Well there's one or two threads (TDS) over 200 pages long and some with over 800 posts. When Trump is inaugurated in January it'll only be myself and about two or three other members posting on this (then renamed) thread so I doubt it'll get to some epic length (believe it or not even I will run out of steam at some point).

Here's a little nugget I just found (New York Times no less):

“Trump does not decide the outcome of this election”

Donald Trump does not decide the outcome of this election and nor do I. The American people decide. That’s why we’ve launched the Biden Fight Fund — to ensure every vote is counted.

Funny. I didn't see the media (or anybody else for that matter) jumping on this one i.e. obviously too busy trying to prop up their story about Trump using donations to settle personal debt as opposed to what HE is able to raise being used to cover legal fees to fight this bunch. Too funny (not)!

Oh well. That settles it then. I'm starting a "South Africans for Republicans" (that even rhymes) fund. Full disclosure: this NON PROFIT organization will be taking a 10% administration fee.

Why not stop reading all the new posts every day and constantly contributing to it then?
Seems a bit odd that you'd loooove to close it when you're one the main posters...?

This applies to a bunch of the people in this sub forum.

If you guys are so sick of Trump, why keep talking about him?

Nobody is holding a gun to your head.
Just do something else.

Threads aren't limited to a year, just to a certain size. We absolutely could let the Trump thread go on beyond a year. It's just a convenient place to close them and start new ones.

But once trumps out in January, I guess we will see what happens. But I'm sure a trump discussion will continue in some form or another for at least some time past his presidency.

Cause I'm a masochistic dumbass. :p

No yeah, that's my way of saying you're right. If I had more sense I'd just stop posting here. In reality I post until I get frustrated enough that I take a break for a month or so, then return.

I was actually planning to take a break for a few months had trump won, but fortunately...

Don't frighten her away. It's part of the fun!

By the way: I'm happy to split said administration fee with you!

Something just struck me though:

Biden started panhandling on 5 November 2020 according to what I found and posted above. That's a bit soon wouldn't you say (unless you knew from the get go that you were already on shaky ground and would need money for legal fees, and who knows for what else, to cover your tracks)?

Taking a flyer here but assuming there's any spare change left in the "Biden Fight Fund" what's going to happen to that I wonder? ANTIFA maybe?

This sounds a lot like the "if you have nothing to hide why do you need a lawyer?" argument. Which as we all know is bs.

Although in truth I suspect it's just the Biden camp playing it safe. These suits are being thrown out right and left and are clearly incompetently handled. I'm not worried.

And we DID know with near certainty that trump would challenge this in court if he lost.

Don't worry though, even if I leave I'm not nearly sensible enough to stay gone in the long run.

I'm glad you agree. You can't blame people for having a discussion that you don't want them to have simply because you're not capable (for whatever reason) of opting out.

Nobody is saying the Biden thread should be shut down.

This is often typical of left vs right. Right wing people are less likely to get emotional when they are confronted with ideas they disagree with. Disclaimer: this is obviously a generalization and it is based on my experiences. The left constantly threw tantrums throughout both Bush and Trump's presidencies. They literally threw fruit at Bush during his inauguration. Compare that to Obama. Some fringe far right wing people were childish and unpleasant, but the right largely accepted his presidency. I'm not sure why lefties get so worked up about people having different opinions. The United States was founded on freedom. Freedom of speech is a big part of that.
