further thought, do people believe that rep. omar was dismissive of the 9/11 attack? c.h. i'm struggling to understand if this is the point you are making or the exact opposite?
i can see how, out of context, some people might see things that way but if you look at the comment in context, i think it's pretty clear that she's discussing discrimination against muslims generally in the wake of 9/11. but even if you choose to take her one controversial comment out of context and feel that it minimised the 9/11 attack the overarching point is surely, clearly, that muslims should explicitly refuse to be accused of guilt by association (which is, i believe, exactly what trump's comments are intended to do).
he lied about muslims celebrating the twin towers falling. this is just more of the same...
