I'm quite glad we pulled out of the Iran deal. Still not a fan of Trump's, especially on his huge flip-flop regarding rx drug prices today.
Personally I find germanies handling of refugees to be inspirational and something that should be a source of shame for every other wealthy country that refused to help.
Richest country in the world that overthrows governments, sells arms to "rebels" and destabilises entire regions (libya, iraq, etc etc) has a responsibility to help people fleeing bloodshed, starvation and war.
Not just a moral responsibility, but a legal one too![]()
From an extreme liberal perspective, we've had people in the US leave and consider themselves political refugees because of Trump, his policies, and all the cronies he's invited aboard that are worse than he is. How do you feel about them? What country should take them in?
That's absurd, and you know that's different from the kind of refugees we're talking about. We're talking about people fleeing war-torn regions, starvation, roaming bands of warlords, violent cartels.
I mean I have no problem with US citizens deciding to move elsewhere, if someone wants to take them. But they're not political refugees, they're free people who live in a relatively stable first-world country who decided they want to go somewhere else because they're afraid of where we're headed. I can sympathize. But if a person like that calls themselves a refugee... well, can I just say "first world problems"?
It's very hard to leave this country. If you leave without renouncing your citizenship, you'll owe the United States income tax every year despite the fact that you don't even live in the country or participate in its economy. And if you do renounce your citizenship, IRS will consider all your assets to be sold at their fair market value and it will demand a 40% exit tax on your entire net worth.
The only thing that annoys me is that 90% of the folks threatening to leave never actually left. It’s not surprising these folks have zero resolve and can’t stick to their word, but it sucks for the common man like myself when they don’t follow through.
Wow I didn't know that, that's intense.

Yes, of course, you're a genius. How could I not have arrived at that very same conclusion? Oh, maybe it's because taking those deductions is risky and IRS might challenge that shit, and people who make less than 100K can't afford to hire a team of tax attorneys to defend themselves.
I swear you're like a cancer patient who's treating himself by looking up shit on WebMD.

Not true those laws are in place to stop rich folks from taking advantage.
