The 2010 Winter Olympics Thread!!

oh wow... switzerland just beat sweden for the bronze in men's curling by LITERALLY an inch. niklas edin who hasn't blown a shot all game just put the last stone a bit heavy to leave the door open for the swiss to score 2 in the 10th end. that was disappointing to see, especially after all that the swedes did this game. edin had a quadruple take out an end earlier even!
 
im pissed and i feel bad for Ryan Miller (U.S. Goalie). u can tell he really took it more on a personal level after the Canadian goal in overtime that gave them the Gold and U.S. the Silver
 
yeah, but how cool is it, that despite the losing effort, miller was the MVP of the olympics. he deserved it! he gave the US a legitimate chance at winning gold even when the rest of the team couldn't put forth a valiant effort for 60 minutes at a time. miller was amazing! and during the closing ceremonies, he walked into the arena with a smile from ear to ear, so i'm glad to see him bounce back in spirit. gold would have been awesome, but silver ain't too shabby.

Shitty music??? Funny I was driving to work thinking I would start a favourite sporting montage thread.

Sports Tonight, our daily sports wrap always has great music. Some of my favourites include Foo Fighters "Pretender" or for a super slow motion classic, Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms". I'm even a fan of a good Classical music montage.

I'll wait until I can access youtube and I'll start a thread.
 
damn what a game between USA and Canada! I ws pretty sad that USA lost, but what else can you say; they were within OT of beating the Canadians at their own game! To be honest, Canada really shouldn't have struggled as much as they did to win the gold. I mean they did invent hockey, didn't they?
 
call me a troll but the whole olympics is gay - doesn't have the charm of the world cup.
 
Well the Olympics are over now

its almost sad, it was good TV for a few weeks

Now we got tournament basketball round the corner, then World Cup (as the above poster mentioned)

and no the dutch didn't invent hockey, the canadians did. there has been artwork found tying ancient egypt to a basic form of shinny, but canadians invented ice hockey.

Yes NCAA tourny coming up real soon. Why is there not an NCAA college basketball thread yet?
