holla back NBA fans, this is one of the best times of the year. it is starting to warm up all over, and I get to go outside and drop bricks on the hoop at the end of my street.

who do you got? I'll add more later

I want the Cavs to win, obviously but it is going to be difficult for the team to get used to playing with Shaq again. they played without Shaq well enough but his entire purpose is to essentially shut out the paint game of Dwight Howard and Bynum. hopefully, their first round games will be such a joke that they can get back into the Shaq swing of things

i honestly believe its going to take a title for lebron to stay in cleveland. if he wins it this year, he'll stay in cleveland to begin his dynasty run. if not, he'll go else where to do it.

that being said, i'm taking the mavs. they're hot at the right time.

whoop whoop! go magic!

we got surprised with 4 tickets to the vip cigar bar at the amway arena and 4 play-off tickets for whatever game we want! i have yet to go to a playoff game yet!

i think they'll go to the finals again this year (yeah, wishful thinking), but hopefully we can win more than one game in the fucking finals. bah!

I find it amusing the some of the very same people whose main knock on Kobe *USED TO BE*:

"Sure Kobe's an amazing physical specimen who puts up AMAZING numbers, but he hasn't proven that he can win a title,"

Now STILL think LeBron is better than Kobe, even though all LeBron has shown is that he's an amazing physical specimen who puts up amazing numbers, but he hasn't proven that he can win a title.

Do you LeBron fans REALLY think that being a teensy bit more of a physical specimen makes up for being NO WHERE NEARLY AS DRIVEN as is Kobe is to WIN?!!!

I'm perplexed.

4 titles with phenomenal stats.

0 titles with phenomenal stats.

And you people STILL think LeBron's better?

I'm a numbers guy, but even *I* readily admit that stats don't tell the whole story.

LeBron MIGHT have what it takes to win a title.

Kobe has PROVEN that he has what it takes (FOUR TIMES!).

What will the LeBron-o-philes' excuse be when it's FIVE titles to NOTHING two months from now?

I guess we'll have to wait until June to see.

I want the Cavs to win, obviously but it is going to be difficult for the team to get used to playing with Shaq again.

they played without Shaq well enough but his entire purpose is to essentially shut out the paint game of Dwight Howard and Bynum.

May the excuses commence!

For the SEVENTH consecutive season.

eh, it's difficult to compare Kobe to LBJ right now. you really have to give it more time. RIGHT NOW, I would take LBJ over Kobe for obvious reasons (Kobe is not the two-time MVP winner). I dislike Kobe, but respect him. it took Jordan seven years to win his first title and this could be LBJ's year

"Obvious reasons?"

Winning a subjective popularity contest (the very same one that Steve Nash recently "won" back-to-back) is more important than leading your team to titles?

Peyton Manning catches shit for "ONLY" winning one Super Bowl, and unlike LeBron, HE has BY FAR the best greatest stats in the history of the game.

But LeBron, for whatever combination of reasons, gets a pass for never ever ever SNIFFING a title.

Maybe LeBron will win Fifteen titles in a row starting now.

And MAYBE the sun won't rise tomorrow.

You don't earn the title of THE GREATEST based on MAYBES.

In.

My.

Opinion.

Show me the motherfucking RINGS!

Preferably Plural!

THEN . . . it becomes a discussion.

Until then, LeBron has no clear claim on even being the SECOND best player - Durant and Wade have strong cases to be made - far stronger than LeBron's case against Kobe.

BULLS (+1600) to win the series over the CAVS is the most ridiculous line I've seen since the bathroom stalls at Twilo.

You know, I love my entire team. I talk about more than just Dwight. I understand talking about integral players and how they match up. And if those match-ups happen in the play-offs, then chat all you'd like.

I just don't want this thread to become another thread comparing Lebron and Kobe. They play two different positions and it's not just the Los Angeles Kobes and the Cleveland Lebrons.

good point, there is a Kobe VS LBJ thread somewhere around here, and I'm sure the general population here would appreciate it if not every NBA discussion we have disintegrates into said discussion.

whenever I make a post about the Cavaliers, not just LeBron James, it's like I get ass-rammed from every hater who lives West of the Rocky Mountains.

as much as I love arguing about Kobe and LeBron (I could literally do it all day end day), I'm sure other NBA fans here get sick of it. so lets keep the discussions where they should be kept.

as a side note, Jameer Nelson is straight ballin. I have always loved his style of play, and he could be the X-factor for Orlando this year. he was injured for most of the playoffs last year, I don't think the team was nearly as complete as they are when he is healthy.

agreed, I hate how every basketball topic turns into a lebron vs kobe debate. ide pick kobe anday over lebron his mangled finger really has me worried about a repeat.

as for playoff talk, so far all i have to say is...

-anyone feeling the possibility of the spurs upsetting the mavs

-damn artest SHUTS DOWN durrants shooting in game one, wonder if this is any indication of how he will play melo and bron

-KG totally deserves to be suspended, nice move prick. oh and pierce has got to be the most dramatic player in the nba

KG - I used to like his style of play, his intensity, and then we kind of let his dirtiness go under the radar. but now that he is getting older and more vulnerable, it seems the dirty aspect of his game is taking full reign. deserves to be suspended.

Artest is in shut down mode. however, I think that Durant will come back in full force in Game 2. I'm not foolish enough to pick an OKC upset, but I wasn't extremely impressed with LA in Game 1 and I think that the Thunder will win a game or two.

I could hate on Joakim Noah professionally. his game isn't good enough for the amount of his smack talk. it's too easy to make fun of Cleveland, and I dislike people that do so. it's like the bully in high school picking on the kid who has Bells Palsy in 10th grade - not kewl.

how about Bron Bron's dunk?! DAMN. that's why I love this game, because I can hoot and holler like a drunk monkey

the funny thing is that, if i'm not mistaken, LL is a knicks fan. :D

but i wouldn't be surprised to find out that his man love is harder for kobe than the knicks as a whole, right LL? ;)

either way, i've learned to accept that haters gonna hate. i've become quite a fan of kobe over the last couple years despite my earlier strong disliking for him. i've seen enough interviews and documentaries about kobe to change my opinion. i still PREFER lebron for many reasons, one being that i'm a homer and love my teams, but kobe's fo sho an interesting guy and a fierce competitor. i know it's about championships and maybe if my teams would win one, i'd be having a different argument, but there are 82 games to play before the playoffs ever happen and every player on every team is an integral part of that. the season doesn't begin when the playoffs begin so despite popular belief, the regular season DOES have relevance and regular season stats DO hold water, but yes, playoff basketball is another world and does elevate the goods from the greats. that said, i'm not arguing potential vs. proof, i'm saying, give a brotha a break. let me enjoy playoff basketball now and argue about the past later.

and how about joakim noah being a complete douche bag. i've never liked that asshole and i still don't. i know he's just trying to stir shit up with his comments about cleveland, and if he really doesn't like it here, then who cares, but jesus is he fucking annoying. it would make me happy to see him fail based on how stupid of a person he is. playing the victim in the press conference after last night's game was a bit over the top "i've been booed my whole life... everywhere i go, i get booed. they don't like me in boston, they don't like me in cleveland, the didn't like me in college... people been booing me my whole life. i don't care, i got my friends." yeah, get a clue moron. people don't boo you because of your talents against their teams, they boo you because you're so unlikeable.

i was impressed with the cavs shooting last night. parker lit it up early on, j moon turned it on at the right time, lebron's dunk was fucking SICK, the whole team played pretty well last night despite chicago playing a hell of a game in the paint. i gotta hand it to the bulls for their performance last night. it's good to get that out of the way and know that the cavs aren't just gonna sit back on the bulls' attempts to overcome being the underdog. game 3 in chicago will be a test, but if the cavs pull out with a W, it's over.

yeah noah is a turd. and you would think with his nba money he could go see a dentist about some braces. oh well, cleveland looked very nice last night, and all I will say is they better not fuck this year up. they are the best team in the nba, no reason they shouldn't win it all.

yeah that bulls game was impressive. yeah noah is just trying to start up shit, but thats what happens in the playoffs we see it year after year. so far though the best game by far was last nights jazz vs nuggets. DAMN undermaned and the jazz step up huge againts a team that nearly made it to the finals last year

that Jazz game was off the hook. I thought my boy Chauncey was going to drain that three for sure.

yeah LL is a Knicks fan, but the funny thing about my many experiences with New Yorkers is that they transplanted their b-ball love to Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, thereby making LBJ their enemy.

that is, until he is on their team. then watch the love fest flow ;)

I'm in Orlando right now to play a music festival and it's nice seeing all the Magic banners around here in the downtown area. I used to love the Magic as a kid with Penny Hardaway and Shaq; and they still are an easy team to like with Vince Carter's dunks, Jameer Nelson's ballin, and Dwight Howard's beastism still make them a lovable team. however, I am still thinking of ways to try to shank Howard on the street
