OK, so I'm hearing a lot of bad news lately about how many people are suffering form co-morbid psychiatric conditions. This ain't cool. I don't want the human race to suffer. So, to the PBS, pull that fucking head out of your arse and start developing/searching a new drug to be approved to treat anxiety, like this:

Pregabalin

Pregabalin's therapeutic effect appears after 1 week of use and is similar in effectiveness to lorazepam, alprazolam, and venlafaxine, but pregabalin has demonstrated superiority by producing more consistent therapeutic effects for psychic and somatic anxiety symptoms. Long-term trials have shown continued effectiveness without the development of tolerance, and, in addition, unlike benzodiazepines, it does not disrupt sleep architecture and produces less severe cognitive and psychomotor impairment; it also has a low potential for abuse and dependence and may be preferred over the benzodiazepines for these reasons.

And quit making the good shit only RPBS you fucks. War veterans shouldn't get cheap discounts on drugs that cost the rest of us millions of dollars a year, even billions of $ if you include alternative medicine!

Um yeh Mr Squiggle I don't think anyone on the TGA or members of the AMA etc are going to read this. You're probably preaching to the converted asking for better acces to a wider range of novel medicines and cheaper too.

Don't we already have a discussion going here somewhere about Lyrica (pregabalin)? To be honest I'd like to give it a try for GAD too but there's no way I'm paying for it if it's off the PBS.
