How often have you tested a pill and it has come out testing posititive for MDxx and once you have taken it, it did not feel like MDxx, meaning it was adultered but showed MDxx. Did it test differently and you weren't sure.

Never. (*knocks on wood*)

However, that does not mean that it is not possible. I may have just been lucky. Usually I can tell with the test if there could be something else in the pill (a slow reaction is usually a good indicator). Other colors present/a mix (which is rare to be able to see, because usually a good amount of an MDxx substance will overpower any other reactions) is also another one.

From reading the other thread, I can tell that you only have the Mecke reagent. I would recommend the Marquis reagent best for a single-test purchase. It's far more reliable at detecting other substances, IMO. The Mecke reagent was originally developed to discriminate heroin from morphines. It should really only be used for confirmation of other tests (such as the Marquis or Mandelin). I would recommend that you purchase a Marquis reagent either from Dancesafe, or from EZ-Test. My personal opinion, if it's within your price range (don't worry, it isn't too expensive), get the EZ-Test Complete. It includes the Marquis, Mandelin, & Mecke, as well as the Simons, & Robadope.

All these tests can work together in a synergy on scrapings from a single pill to determine what adulterants are in it. The good thing about having multiple reagents, is that you can confirm exactly WHAT is in your pill, beyond the shadow of any reasonable doubt. However, there are certain substances that are present in pills that cannot be detected by the reagents, and the common one is the BZP/TFMPP combo. The other one is PMA (EDIT: Mandelin & Simons can test for PMA, since it's a primary amine. Mandelin will turn green, then red, then brown. Simons will turn red, but this could also indicate MDA. Check out the link below for more information.).

I hope this helps.

Thanks So Much, I have actually ordered the Marquis Regent yesterday, I should have just bought the entire thing but whats done is done and I will do it next time Hopefully the two I have bought will work fine, at least I will have two tests to confirm it. Dance Safe should not put that the Mecke Regent is the best one to buy if thats all you can afford. I'm glad I found this website, Otherwise I wouldn't have known.

Congrats to you, jtaliciaa! You will wonder how you lived without them. :)

The whole Marquis vs Mecke thing varies from person to person. I also prefer Marquis over Mecke, as the color changes are much clearer & easy to read.

Thanks for the great explanation, waterheart! My typing fingers thank you. :)

I bought ten pills, what a waste of money, I tested all ten and not one of them had MDxx in them. I think we may just give it up, or its time to find a new dealer, Thank goodness for the testing kit.

this has happened to me several times, with a pill saying it was mdma, by changing straight to purple,

but when comsumed no good! why does it do this?

I also have a question on how can you tell if it has turned color or not, I had two pills that fizzed a little and then stayed the color of the pill wich was a pinkish red color and an orange color. Will the reaction to what is in it change the color of the pill if it is dyed like this. Like lets say I have a purple pill and I am looking for a purpleish color change, will it just dye the regent purple or will I see a significant color change, i have yet to test an actual ecstasy pill, wich I am really getting irritated with, but will i know when i see it. obviously the two I tested were not x and I need to throw them away.

trust me u will see a color change its like watching someone drop dye into water if there is no color change trash the pill asap

The fizzing with no color change is a good indicator of BZP/TFMPP.

Yes, it does not matter what color the pill is dyed, the reaction will overpower the dye completely. You will definitely notice.

I got some yesterday that were suppose to be awsome and tested them and they turned black as soon as I droped it on there, woo hoo. I was glad to finally see what a good pill does, all the others I have tested where crap.
