Testing for speed

I have aquired a white powder, supposedly 1 gram of speed.
is there a simple way of testing for speed ?

If you're in the US and bought an entire gram of powder as speed...
Okay, meth is crystals. Crystals that look like shards. Shards that look like glass. Hence the name.
So what you got is probably cut to hell. And why the hell would you buy something if you weren't even sure it was the real deal!?
I hope you got ripped off so you learn a lesson.
If you want to know if it's real or not, try using some.. Jesus.. this isn't fucking rocket science - it's a no brainer.

Well, if you got a gram of speed cut with AMT you could smell the AMT indole smell and know something was up. Just take a bump.

Sound like cut to me. The only way to find out is to try it. Just do a little so you know what your dealing with...
 
But methamphetamine freebase is a damn liquid a room temprature so you will never fucking see it unless you cook. If it is a white powder it is cut. I don't remember pure AMT being white. Also active doses of AMT are fairly expensive next to the street price for meth so it is *way* more likely to be cut meth than AMT.
If you have seen dealt shards they leave it as decent sized shards (nothing like powdered salt) so while someone could not doubt crystalize any random compound into that form it is significantly more difficult than obtaining random white powder.
Of course we know nothing about how you obtained it. It *could* be rat posion for all we know. This is why you taste a little bit first to make sure it isn't detergent then snort a tiny amount and see if it feels like speed...then increase your dose gradually till you get the right effects . If you start tripping balls you will know it.
There is no easy way to tell what it is. There are reagents that react positive to meth but they won't tell you the percent...it could be a little bit of meth cut with rat posion. Your only hope really is to try it...or if you want to be really safe gelcap a little and send it and the $25 donation to dancesafe and get them to analyze it for you.

I don't know why I'm going to bother, but if you had even the most basic fundamental knowledge of chemistry, you'd understand that if you synthesized meth, you would be growing crystals.
Meth's nickname is 'glass', not 'ice', because it looks like glass. It's also refered to as 'shards' as in shards of glass. And of course "crystal" because well, METHAMPHETAMINE HCL IS CRYSTALS.
But why should you know this? I mean, hey, you "acquired" an entire gram of meth, but don't even know if it actually is meth!

I can easily identify drugs based on sight. If in a pill, then taste or smell will work. Unlike some people, I'm not an idiot. Keep working on that high school diploma, bucko.
