Terror attack in NYC involving truck.

I'm not sure if my message was unclear. My love for those injured or killed, and all the people who were affected.
<3 :(

Indeed. It's a shame we spend so much time laying blame and so little thinking about the people.

We always do this, we jump straight into the politics. Very little time is spent learning about the victims. We spend time learning how it happened, laying blame, we go over every last available fact about the killer. But the victims kinda just get immediately forgotten.

I know everyone gets a little caught up in events like this (it's a bit hard not to, especially in the 24 hour tabloid news cycle) but what else is a mayor to say? "Ok people, it's every man for himself - get your pitchforks, we're getting our revenge!"?

Of course not. There is nothing to see - some people were murdered in new york city.
I don't mean to downplay the seriousness of it - and i'm not - but there really is nothing any of us can do except get on with our lives and try not to get too caught up in the fear and hatred these sorts of attacks attempt to provoke.
That is, after all, exactly what the terrorist want - and why would we want to give them what they are after?

Blasio said the same thing London's mayor did (Khan), and Khan got mauled by Trump for saying it. But you're right, what else do you do when people attack your society, your values and your way of life? Surely carrying on head held high is the best way to show these scum that they will not break us? A knee-jerk reaction that dilutes our values is pretty much what terrorists want us to do, to show the world we're weak.

Mr. 997 mentioned LEDs brainwashing Americans, confusing Mr. Swillow, who asked what he meant. I answered with how I think he meant TV screens, and a false flag thing, as Mr. 997 has been known to believe happen. Right there in my second line I say this. Post #4 I think, so not so deep as to lose track of the conversation.

I'm also getting annoyed that I'm the one who needs to put down paraphernalia lately. I thought BL's common theme is that we're all either now or in the past, drug users? Who don't pull shit like that to shut down an argument? FFS, I hope most of you are high every time you post. Having the same "black people/muslims/women are actually human beings" argument every other thread isn't what a politics forum is supposed to do.

What are you going on about? Stop being overly sensitive and I personally could care less if you or other people here on bluelight use meth or any other drugs, are sober/clean, or go between being long periods of sobriety to use/binges.

When you post stuff like you did about a terrorist attack being a false flag or other things here in CEP, like how you served in Vietnam complete with pictures from Apocalypse now claiming that this was you in the military, and troll/shitpost here, people are going to bring up how you use/are addicted to meth, and wonder if that has to do with your trolling/posts.

Nobody here even in CEP is or has claimed that "black people/muslims/women" or even "brown people" are not actually human beings or do not deserve basic human rights.

Very true I feel bad for the people who were all from Argentina who were visiting NYC for a school reunion, and all the other victims. :(

I just told you that is not the case. I know a lot of Trump supporters...how many do you call friend or family?

Its a binary choice or you can abstain/vote 3rd party.

All this attempt to paint supporters with one broad stroke is....annoying.
I guess the ones who see it are the president and all his supporters.

Seriously, what's your explanation for why if I bring up gun control after the worst single-perp mass murder (non bomb) in US history, I'm disgusting for politicizing and exploiting their deaths, but

after a guy with a truck mows down bicyclists, it's time to take serious action on a class of people?

Don't tell me it's about Islam either when most muslims live outside the "middle east".

I agree. It's why I keep my opinion quiet in other threads, my true feelings about someone who thinks a minor deserves to get shot dead for walking across the grass. I don't comprehend that worldview, and don't want to.

What makes you assume i'm not american? .

Between your location saying Melbourne, and well, everything else you've ever said ever. You might as well have "I'm not American" written in sky writing or something. I'd call it a fair presumption to say the least.

Besides, it's often easy to tell where someone's from or at the best least rule out where they're not from from all sorts of shit in how they write. Like the text version of an accent.

Half my family live in america, so it's not a country i feel disconnected to.
I'm more interested in american politics than millions of americans. And yeah, i have a different outlook - but this a global website, if americans don't want to hear from foreigners, tough titties :)

Yeah, but don't you think it's weird to support a guy who rigged an election?
One of his advisors has pleaded guilty, right?
It's not something people can keep ignoring - trump is seriously corrupt.
I'm trying to get my head around why people are sticking with the guy too. I'm baffled by it.
What is it about trump that speaks to this section of people?
Honestly, the only selling point i see is his blatant racism. It's not necessarily a broad brush stroke to see a quality in a politician that wins them unwavering loyalty in people, but is invisible to others.
You know what dog whistle politics is, right?

It's equally annoying to see people acting like there is nothing wrong here.

Hey man I'm not saying you don't have a right to any opinion about American politics. But having read so many of your posts over the past however many years, I'd be extremely surprised to learn you'd grown up culturally American. My point is it's not unreasonable to assume you're not.

Far as I'm concerned we are the culture we were surrounded by when we grew up. Your ethnicity, legal nationality, none of that really matters.

The culture we grew up in has an enormous impact on us, how we talk, how we think, how we spell, much of what what we believe in. And you don't seem culturally American to me. I could totally buy you being culturally Australian though. ;)

It is so rude for a foreign voyeur to tell us how to live, I still wonder what your obsession is with our politics, it's not your country.
your mock outrage would be more believable if you held yourself to the same standard you hold others. does it stop you having an opinion on australia? no:

Bullshit, not even worth a detailed response, however to sum it up...... you are still to this day apart of the facade of a British empire, just like Cuckanda, at least we American citizens aren't stuck paying your bills....well armed defense excluded lol.

he's as entitled to an opinion on the u.s. as you are to yours about australia.

so how about you stop that? thanks.

See, for the longest time I thought you, Mr. Him, were just goading Spacejunk, and I admit it was kind of funny when it worked. Then there was the Trayvon stuff, and I thought well that's not funny.

But now I know you're trying to provoke.

Someone mentions Vegas reaction, includes the guy's whiteness, you say, "No one gives a fuck their color but those who see that."

Sorry, but you can't ignore Trump ran on color. I was matching your own generalization. Get annoyed with yourself first.

Even CNN as of today says there is no proof of "collusion" and I still don't know what a Russian collusion looks like yet but Im open minded...make the case for me. Trump "rigged" the election.... That's the point you are making? What do you know that CNN doesn't? Facebook told congress a few days ago all of the Russians rigged the election fake news was from Russia.

You seem very fixated on the media and perceptions of bias - i just try to look at the information presented.

A lot of trump's senior people have been charged for a series of crimes relating to the unlawful collusion with russian hackers and so fourth - relating to the 2016 election.
The charges are very serious. The point i'm making is that trump has launched an all-out assault on america's democracy, but people are still loyal to him, and i think that's deeply disturbing.

He's also trained his supporters to assist his attacks on the free press. The disregard for truth and facts is so dystopian.
I don't think most trump supporters even understand the importance of the things they are helping him destroy.

it's pretty depressing to have solid proof that trump's campaign engaged in "conspiracy against the united states", and his supporters just shrug their shoulders and say "so what?"

Can you imagine if obama had a similar scandal, what the reaction would have been?

This makes me think the soviets paid for all this fake news to create madness. Though their socialist paradise failed..I have Russian in me. I do think the Russians a smart people. I believe the Russians tried to pay both sides. I heard Hillary on TV say she did pay for the pee story. At the end of the day with Uranium One and her admission she paid for the pee story the whole investigation is supposed to be over.... I hope Trump ends up sueing her. That would be awesome!

Someone sign me up for twitter so I can suggest that to him!

The soviet union disbanded over 25 years ago.

I'm not sure why you keep trolling when i try to engage you in mature discussion.
