Temgesic help, many questions

hello everyone i have heard of this great drug. i take around 20 to 40 mgs of oxy per day. i heard of this great drug that helps get you off of your oxy without the withdrawals. i have seen that it come in .2 and .5 mg strenghts. 1 how much Temgesic would i need to get off of the oxy and how long should i stay on it for. 2 how should i taper the Temgesic, week by week, day by day? and 3. once the Temgesic is done will i experience bad withdrawals if anything at all, what i mean is does the Temgesic just replace the oxy or does this solutiopn rteally help you slowly wean off with little to no side. thanks for everyones help as i need to get off of this oxy before i go up again on dosag. please email me at [email protected]

Hm, buprenorphine(temgesic) is an agonist-antagonist narcotic. If you are addicted(physically) to oxycodone, it will must likely send you into withdrawal as soon as it absorbs.

i'm not very informed on issues like this but my boyfriend was going threw this to and i was doing a lot of research.check out a pill called
clondine it's also used as a sleep aid so it is very easy to get from a doctor.hope i helped.

well i have heard from several people that BUP is the new OPIATE cure all!!!they say that BUPRENEX(temgesic) somehow "cleans" out your opiate receptors thus leaving you free of addiction after short term usage(how long one much take BUP to clean out ones receptors i dont know)...i know 2 guys that are currently taking BUP amps and they are quite addicxted to it..they have been on it for longer than a year and the doctor still fills the script for it..
so IMO from what i have heard/seen i dont think BUP is as great as some say...i think it is just as addictive(maybe a little less) than the true opiates like OXY and HEROIN..
plus i hear doctors claiming that BUP provbides NO high..that is very UNTRUE..the guys i know who take it claim the IV method is quite nice, that it gives one a more 'clean/energized" high than stronger opiates..
when it comes to OPIATES, there are NO quick fixes..

Please do some more research. Bupe *can* be used effectively for tapering off opiate addiction. Does it work for everyone- NO. Neither does methadone or cold turkey. But, there are detox centers that use bupe to detox from smack and other opiates.
I think it's more popular as a method outside of the US. I've seen some studies that show a combination of methadone/bupe is possibly a great way to detox.
Methadone is used for the initial (long term) detox from heavy habits. As some may know, quitting methadone may be much harder than quitting the original habit (H, oxy whatever). When the methadone dosage is near the 5-10ml/day amount, the patient can switch to bupe, which apparently, is easier to taper off from.
Methadone- long time slow decrease down to the magic 10-5ml/day. Bupe from and equivalent dosage to 0 is a couple of weeks.
