"An opioid mechanism of action may play a role in some of the pharmacological properties of temazepam." http://www.wikidoc.org//index.php/WikiDoc_state_of_the_art_review_on_Temazepam

Would this explain why the majority of experienced benzo/opiate abusers find temazepam to be particularly euphoric?

And is that quote at the top still relevant to benzos like flunitrazepam, nitrazepam, and nimetazepam? I've yet to try any of these but just out of curiosity...

The wikidoc temazepam article is very, very reliable info because it was written by doctors and the Editor-in-Chief Dr. Michael Gibson, M.S., M.D. can be reached and has his phone number right there on the article.

Aside from the fact that it has a euphoric side effect as indicated in FDA trials (btw, it was the only benzo with a side effect of "euphoria" in FDA clinical trials among benzos)

Temazepam also has certain pharmacokinetic properties of absorption, distribution, elimination, and clearance that make it more apt to abuse compared to many other benzodiazepines. Different benzodiazepines have different abuse potential; the more rapid the increase in the plasma level following ingestion, the greater the intoxicating effect and the more open to abuse the drug becomes. The speed of onset of action of a particular benzodiazepine correlates well with the ‘popularity’ of that drug for abuse. Temazepam is the most rapidly absorbed and fastest acting benzodiazepine according to a British study, which gives more credence to temazepam being the most addictive benzodiazepine.

I have tried flunitrazepam and nitrazepam and got a mild euphoria from nitrazepam, but not flunitrazepam.

I'm sure nimetazepam is an euphoric benzodiazepine because of its pharmokinetic properties.

Therefore Temazepam is literally the most euphoric benzo! Some people just can't handle the hypnotic properties, especially people with low tolerance. Temazepam is almost up there with opiates imo, so much better than the mainly anxiolytic benzos like xanax and clonazepam. I actually enjoy smoking marijuana with temazepam as opposed to xanax, alprozolam seems to dim my highs at higher doses clonazepam not as bad

50mg and a beer is roughly as good as a half a bottle of tequila already lined up in shots.

I'd say 50mg of Temazepam feels something along those lines. Most of my non-Benzo experienced friends will be annihilated off 50mg of Temazepam alone. Adding a beer to the equation for me always increases the effects by like 25-50% it feels.
