Tell me the faux-fur buying secret.

So, I'm a crafty person who enjoys the process of creating and takes pride in knowing I'm wearing something I made. Buying fluffies or scoodies from other sellers is fine and all, but I would rather make my own :]. However, every website that sells faux fur jacks up the price, and I'm not about to pay $30.00+ for one yard of fabric that I could purchase for cheaper in a store. My only issue is trying to find a store that actually sells it. I feel like faux fur was so abundant for Halloween costumes and stuff my mother made me when I was younger, and now I can't find it anywhere. For those of you that buy your own, what is the secret to finding a good fabric store that sells it? Thanks in advance ;D

You should look around for an art or design school with a fashion program and try to get an instructor on the phone.

or hit up some craft guilds (groups of crazy old women who quilt and shit) they know the bomb fabric stores.
