Teeth-numbing power as an indication of coke quality?

It isn't a great idea to rub cocaine on your teeth/gums on a regular basis, but once every now and then isn't going to really affect you. It does cause damage, but not because it is acidic; cocaine is a weak base like most other organic pharmaceuticals. I'm not exactly sure why it does this, but for one, the local vasoconstriction causes tissue to die from a lack of oxygen (again more of a chronic risk). I think one of the other mechanisms of damage is that rubbing just about any powder (obviously not fluorides, some peroxides, etc) onto your teeth will affect some of the bacterias that are beneficial to your mouth and help prevent cavities and tooth decay. I might be wrong on that last one though.
