Hello all! Recently I posted my "Love letter for Stephanie." This short story was written in inspiration. The characters are her and I. Ramayana represents me, and Delilah represents Stephanie, the girl I will never forget. And Raman, is the horse. I hope you find the depth. Enjoy.
Tears of Loneliness
In the core of her eyes, dwelled a realm of the enchanted. Looks of a familiar persona to his ancient eyes. She was that humble creation. Delilah. He was a man of good will. Ramayana. God loved them. Loved them both in his hands. She reminded him of mysterious pictures he'd see in his dreams. They were primal. There was no such love in existance. Time after time, they would gather fruits in baskets. He would pick her up, and hold her like a child, so that she can pick the berries so sweet. The taste, he'd remember for many lives. Colors of blue, purple, cherry red, he'd even see the colors when he'd look into her eyes. In posing her blink of innocence, he would crave more sweet taste of the potent berries. She had a horse, Raman who he trained, fed, and pampered. Raman promised him that he would take her to the ultimate heights, to fetch the stars unreachable. A tear, a waterfall tear would stream down his eyes of devotion. He made Ramayana promise in return, that when Delilah is in his arms, he would give her the warmth, compassion, and fulfill her dreams that'd otherwise be impossible. A waterfall tear expressed itself mutually, from the eye of Ramayana.
The tear, in devotion, sprinkled a mist which fueled Raman's huff. In rage, he surrenders his cries for Delilah. This glow grew in his eyes, grotesque, Ramayana felt his heart jump, he felt the horse misses Delilah. He must find her.
Away ran Raman, a song of sadness played the theme. This heartfelt moment was dedicated, to find Delilah the beloved.
Upon his journey, Raman wills to sacrify his last breath. His last drop of willful blood, last hope he held deep in their hearts. His horseshoes, one by one, broke off. He ran up the Grenada Mountain Forest, chanting,
"Lost love, lost love,
A Tear of despiration.
Lost love, lost love,
A Hoof of dedication.
Shine your eyes, May I find,
The lost love, pure divine."
He had taken his last breath, reaching the top of the mountain. He slowly fell to the Forest ground, as he heard a sweet, melodic voice,
"Will I ever love you, again?
Will we be together, again?
If I were to dream tonight, I'd dream that I'd be with you,
If I were to wish tonight, I'd wish that you loved me too."
She sighed, in remorse. The sound Raman heard was a sigh of despiration, misery, reminess.
Raman looked up to the well, up above.
Her chants gave him hope. He stood up, vigorously, and cried,
"Lost love, lost love,
Tear of despiration.
Lost love, lost love,
A hoof of dedication."
Instantly, a tear of joy poured down the eyes of Delilah. And misted on the hoof of Raman.
Raman recognized the berry, so tastefully sweet. The tear shed from the berry eyes of Delilah, healed his scarred hooves. Raman gently walked towards the edge of the well, giving her a cordial look. She understood the look she adored. She jumped and landed on his back.
Raman then took his first breath of bliss. Delilah whispered in his ear,
"Take me away.
From this well of loneliness.
I dream, afar,
To dwell in happiness."
Instantly, Raman with a sigh of relief, headed back, following his footprints. Leaving behind her worries, Delilah closed her eyes. She dreamt of flying with her soul-mate, Ramayana. She envisioned passing stars in the chrystalline space, soaring dimensions thought to be impossible.
Ramayana, at this time was asleep, in his hut. He retrieved a sleeping pill from his trusted apothocary, who lived in a hut not far away. Ramayana couldn't settle for Raman to contribute to the quest alone, to find his lost love. He went to dream. Hoping it would come true. He first envisioned stars, and he was flying, soaring freely with his beloved Delilah. In the midst of the journey, he was overwhelmed by a leap of faith. His flight stopped. He wondered why.
Raman and Delilah just arrived. The journey was over. Delilah opened her eyes, but still felt her beloved's warm spirit around her.
Delilah, in a deep emotional state, went to the bedside of Ramayana, in the hut. He sensed this warmth that covered his celestial being.
Still in a dream, he turned to his beloved to express the word of truth.
Delilah, sitting beside his sleeping body, drew closer to him. Her face next to his closed eyes.
In his sleep, he whispered "I love you."
Delilah, in return, replied, "I love you."
Ramayana's eyes gently opened, and understood he was no longer dreaming. It had manifested into the reality that had dreaded them both.
An heir of delerium spread. They locked eyes, entering that realm that ancient hearts understood. Wiping eachothers tears, they joined souls once again.
"The tears of loneliness will bring two lonely hearts together."
