TDS Photo Thread Vs. Snow Day!

i never matured haha. i don't think i'm going to either, i'll always love cartoons, cute things, and LOTS of color. whenever someone sees my closet for the first time they always comment on how colorful it is :D

Spork, you already have rhubarb? Rhubarb is my favorite pie. My grandmother used to grow tons of it back in Iowa and we had pies, crisps, cobblers and even just rhubarb sauce over homemade vanilla ice cream. Out here everyone makes strawberry rhubarb but I am a purist and like the straight stuff!

Oxy, those photos are amazing. You should also post them in this thread my son started in Second Opinion. It is a thread for pictures that show why you love where you live--and these two pictures definitely show that!

We certainly do. I bought a bunch at the farmer's market this past weekend. I got some rhubarb sauce too..I think I'm gonna try it as a marinade for chicken tonight. :) Where in Iowa did your grandmother live? My parents and most of my extended family are in Iowa. I've spent a lot of time there growing up.

i'm doing good. a bit tired cause i didn't sleep well last night, but i'll get over that. :)

those are amazing pics! i'm going to be seeing the atlantic for the first time this summer and i can't wait! :)
 
Spork, every summer of my life when I was young was spent on Great Spirit Lake on the Iowa/Minnesota border. I learned to swim there, played in the woods, went skinny-dipping off the dock at night with three generations of extended family and ate more rhubarb than anything, I think. My Grandfather built the log cabin that he and my grandmother lived in. I have great memories of that lake and those years and all it ever takes is a piece of straight rhubarb pie to bring them back.:) (I think my dad and all his brothers were born in a tiny town called Brooklyn, IA).
