sooooooo amazing!! i definitely needed that before my final exams next week...now i'm ready to take them on. i feel lucky cause i saw shpongle last year around the same time too. i won't complain if this becomes a yearly experience though! :)

I'm an uncle :) Have been since I was 10 or so, and now have 3 nephews. One was born last year about 6 weeks premature but he's a fighter! My big sister (Well, half sister on my Dad's side) is quite a bit older than me -- she's 39, 40 this year I think, and we don't see eachother much but it's always nice when we do. There's a picture of me with her in this thread somewhere.

I'm also a godfather to a little boy named Angela -- I was his Mum's first real friend in this city, and was the one who told her she was pregnant, even when the test came back negative I was so sure! And sure enough, she was :) So I helped her kick her Oxy habit so that he wasn't born addicted .. Helped her do a detox and supervised her. We had to do it without benzos or any strong meds since she was pregnant and it was quite hands on. Ended up making her a lot of herbal teas and had to give her a sponge bath because she couldn't face the hot water of the bath or shower but she was so happy when she got through it.

Unfortunately, she got back with the baby's father and started using again, and I tried to help but she was so very in love with this guy and wouldn't let me take her and Angelo away ... So eventually CYFS (Child, Youth and Family Services) got involved and took her baby away .. Gave custody to the father's parents and they are only allowed to see him under supervision. I saw the Mum today and she's not doing so good -- still using Oxy and they've banned her from the methadone because when she was on it she told her doses and abused it all the time so now she has to do it cold turkey but can't face it .. Doesn't help that her dealer makes sure she stays hooked and tries to get sex from her in exchange for pills. I really hate him. He's messed up over ten of my friends lives -- including mine -- and he doesn't care. We lost a wonderful girl because he dosed her too much when he knew she was on her own oxy, and I'll never forgive him. The last time I saw her she gave me a few Oxy 10s to help me get through the day and I'll never forget the look in her eyes, it's like she knew it was coming.

Anyway, sorry, I'm having a rough few days and needed to spill my guts. Thanks for listening, you guys are so amazing, it's given me a fresh breath of life being on this forum, and I care so much about all of you. Much love,

Man I am so sorry to hear all of that. That is so rough :( I hope Angelo's mum is able to get herself clean, I wish her all the best <3

I also have 3 nephews, Abigail is my first niece! How awesome is it, being an aunty/uncle :)
 
n3o, without a doubt, that is one of the most beautiful newborns I have ever seen (and I have seen quite a few!) She is gorgeous!

Spork, I listen to shpongle to go to sleep sometimes. It makes for good dreams!=D
