^--- eh, I've seen worse.
and better.

Personally, I was considering the Photo purely as a piece of Art and also considering it's visual impact from a Humanistic perspective. Not really interested in it 'from a 'worse/better perspective'.

You wear it well DnA! ;) Such a cool photo, looking very chic and gorgeous my dear.

That picture isn't anywhere close to being an art piece, and war/death is about as humanistic as we can get.
Paintings & photos of pretty flowers or abstracts are interpretive. A black & white photo of someone getting capped in the dome is not.
The history behind the photo is something that can be interpretive, but not the photo itself.

If I could post up some of the war pictures I have, I doubt y'all would be able to wax philosophical about them..... unless they win a Pulitzer or something first. :\

My seeing better & worse, only means images of death & violence have little impact on me. I'm just a bit more objective when it comes to things like that.

But show me pictures of the sweet girls here or a pretty cloud, and I lose all objectivity. Fucked up, huh?

Sometimes I just love being a modern industrial death-culture product. 8)

1st day of kindergarten featuring the Rugrats backpack...

Dancing all the way into the mouth of the whale....no first day jitters for you, eh?<3 (Both of my kids had to be pried off of my leg and then I sat in the parking lot and cried!)
In 1 hour I will be with 20 kindergarteners doing collages.....art with kindergarteners is the best. They consider it a visual exercise and a meal at the same time (please don't eat the paste, kids!)=D

I totally disagree. It is a photograph, so is depicting a certain reality by both the observer and the photographer.
Hey...we are both coming at this from individual standpoints so neither one is invalid. It is obviously a topic(limiting choice of word I've used-I know! 8) ) that has impacted you greatly and one that I would not intentionally belittle and also one which I harbour alot of humility toward

I think you underestimate peoples judgements Mr Ix.

Not 'fucked up' in the least IMO. We deal with what we can, in the best way we can. Experience makes up a huge portion of who we are. :|

'Sides, if the cloud and pretty girl things are workin well for ya, then you be doing good! :D

I think it depends. this particular photograph was taken without much forethought..... the man behind the camera just happened to have extremely good reflexes, and got a hunch that something was going to happen...... just not what actually did. it was a spontaneous candid of the bloodiest sort; a big meaty slab of sudden death that's impossible to ignore, gloss over, or dissect with emotive interpretations and/or reflexive disgust.
While the actual truth of the reality leading up to that point may be obscured by time & memory; to me the photo is more a pure moment of inviolate history. It is what it is.

I think you underestimate peoples judgements Mr Ix.

I try to only estimate from experience.

Yeah, so far clouds are safe. Pretty girls too.... they're just as unobtainable. ;)

And now, for something completely different.....

I like flowers.
