Ixchellian, let me get this straight, so they stole the bronze Kali, and then proceeded to break into the store again—only to leave it there? I suppose they were paying their 'karmic debts'? Haha!

Yeah.... they broke back IN to leave the statue.
Theft #1 - statue returned after thief dies in a car wreck the day after.
Theft #2 - statue returned after thief is murdered in a robbery a few days later.
Theft #3 - statue returned after thief tries to pawn it, and the pawnshop owner recognized it. Thief wanted on multiple rape/robbery warrants in other states.

I guess the local criminal element finally realized that the big bronze Kali at the local headshop was bad juju lol
 
heh.... it was never "my" statue.... it belonged to the store, and the old Jewish couple who ran it. I have no idea where it came from.... only that it had always been in there (including after the first store burnt down)...... that it was for sale, but nobody ever came close to making an offer close to what E. and A. might've wanted for it. I think the highest serious offer was $1200, and they still turned it down..... which was really unusual for them lol.

^ Christ! That's eerie as hell! Hahaha! Quite the story, though. Certainly makes you wonder a bit after you have experienced/heard enough similar in theory.

PS. I thought the same exact thing in regards to the photo I took at the pier! Haha!
