Taylor Remedy Ingredients:
-Norco or Perc
-Klonipin, Valium, Xanax, or something to help you sleep
-Kratom
-5-htp and Melatonin for long term as needed
Cold Turkey is dangerous. A doctor would advise against it and there is a reason for that. You do not have to suffer much in kicking your bad habit. You can still go to work and function just fine by tapering.
First thing to realize is that if you snort pills you have to get over the snorting addiction. I cannot taper on a roxy by ingestion. It is important to ingest to get the drug moving slowly through your system which is why I need to take larger pills like Norco or Perc. You want to get yourself to take the pill after a large meal around day 3. First couple days take on an empty stomach to get a quick effect and help get over the snorting thing.
This is how I kick opiates without withdrawals
I get enough Norcos or Percs (adjust this for 5mg percs - 2 = 1 Norco) to get me through the first 3-5 days. For 30mg habit (adjust as needed. you may to taper down to 60mg a day first on roxy...):
3 Norcos (10mg hydrocodone) for day 1,
2-3 for day 2 and 3,
1 -2 for day 4,
1 for day 5)
I have Klonopin (xanax, valium, or some sort of sleep aide)
1-2mg as needed for first three days (start with 1mg and if needed get back up and get another) - I usually snort this to get my snort addiction satisfied
.5-1mg as needed for up to a week max.
I switch to Melatonin after a week and continue with it for about a month+
Around Day 4 or 5 when I am running out of my carefully ( in the sense that I get ONLY what I need to taper) purchased hydrocodone pills , I switch to Kratom tabs. You can use tea as well. I take just enough to kill the WD. This is can be anywhere from 6 extra strong pills to two pills. I do not find myself getting addicted to Kratom if used just for WD symptoms. If your at work and starting to get jittery, just take a couple Kratom at a time and wait 30-60m. If you still feel bad take 1-2 more. Repeat as needed. You will eventually run out and at that point (end of week one), you will be substance free. I get the $50 bottle of Kratom pills and always have half left. Also, I this point you should not be snorting anymore, other than a late night sleep med if you ware feeling like total crap near the point of just wanting the opiate again. Dont do it, snort the sleep med (which will give you a placebo - just by snorting).
You will need to take sleep medication. sleep is VERY important. Do NOT go without it! If there is anytime you need a sleep med it is now!!! Also having xanax for anxiety may be something to look into. Though, you have to use it only as a doctor will prescribe it. If you get off on the high of it to the point where you cant stop, you may need to go the route of suboxone or ?
Allow yourself a relapse. I tell myself I am going to go roxy free for one week and then I am going to purchase one. This gives me something to look forward to and helps me through. Usually by the end of the week I do not want the roxy or I may relapse which sets me back a little (NOT to day 1 (more like day 2 or 3 and then the length of it is 4 days total instead of 7)! - any step towards the right direction is a HUGE step!). I am realistic and realize this is like an airplane landing. You want a slow decent. You may get bumped up by some turbulence but keep making sure you are heading down. Crashing straight into the ground is not only insane but completely unnecessary. TAPER, TAPEr, TAPer, TAper, Taper, taper.
On top of all this, hit the sauna, work out and /or go on walks. Which leads me to what they call Morning Walk Syndrome. Morning walk syndrome is the BEST part of opiate withdrawal. This is when you really start thinking of your new life and where you are going to head. I put on some headphones and walk to cafes to write and sort my head out. There will be a lot going on. Morning walk syndrome is a blessing. I look forward to the mornings I wake up early and go for a walk.
I have been through this about 12 times over the past 10 years .Will this be my last kick this time? I cant tell. There have been periods where I was clean for 1-3 years only to relapse again after a breakup or loss of a job, or ? The bottom line is I have to deal with my depression to stay clean. When life is good I have no interest in using.
There are three types of addicts: those that get addicted from being presribed for legitimate pain, those that get addicted through recreation, and those that self-medicate. I am one who self-medicates. Meaing I may need to find a drug such as an SSRI through a doctor to help my chemical imbalance. Or take 5-htp if I want a more natural route. To stay clean, know which sort of addict you are. If you really are in serious pain you have to learn to stay withing the smallest amount possible. This sort of addict is the hardest to deal with in kicking becaues they may really need it. The other two just need to change thrie pattern of thinking to succeed. This takes a lot of soul searching and self help. It can be done.
Will it (sobriety) last for ever? Does not matter. Try to realize that life is best without a drug addiction. Try to stay clean for most of your existence on this earth but certainly do not get discouraged and really down on yourself if you relapse into it again. Allow your self some leeway. You can do it (recover) as many times as you need to. Essentially, thinking the kicking of opiates is not for ever will make the kick much easier and hopefully your life works itself out to the point where opiates are no longer desirable to you. This is the ultimate goal and can be achieved. It really has to be achieved for you to stay clean. You need to look at the positive things in this world as a healthy opiate-free human.
Im not sure there is anything good about going through an opiate addiction, other than the being high part. But that cant last forever and will destroy you long term. Opiate addicts are difficult to be around and are self destructive. Who wants to live out life as that person. You are better off radiating positivity and sharing knowledge. Opiate addiction is death. Sobriety is life. Its your choice which world you want to be in.
