Taylor Remedy Ingredients:

-Norco or Perc
-Klonipin, Valium, Xanax, or something to help you sleep
-Kratom
-5-htp and Melatonin for long term as needed

Cold Turkey is dangerous. A doctor would advise against it and there is a reason for that. You do not have to suffer much in kicking your bad habit. You can still go to work and function just fine by tapering.

First thing to realize is that if you snort pills you have to get over the snorting addiction. I cannot taper on a roxy by ingestion. It is important to ingest to get the drug moving slowly through your system which is why I need to take larger pills like Norco or Perc. You want to get yourself to take the pill after a large meal around day 3. First couple days take on an empty stomach to get a quick effect and help get over the snorting thing.

This is how I kick opiates without withdrawals

I get enough Norcos or Percs (adjust this for 5mg percs - 2 = 1 Norco) to get me through the first 3-5 days. For 30mg habit (adjust as needed. you may to taper down to 60mg a day first on roxy...):

3 Norcos (10mg hydrocodone) for day 1,
2-3 for day 2 and 3,
1 -2 for day 4,
1 for day 5)

I have Klonopin (xanax, valium, or some sort of sleep aide)
1-2mg as needed for first three days (start with 1mg and if needed get back up and get another) - I usually snort this to get my snort addiction satisfied
.5-1mg as needed for up to a week max.

I switch to Melatonin after a week and continue with it for about a month+

Around Day 4 or 5 when I am running out of my carefully ( in the sense that I get ONLY what I need to taper) purchased hydrocodone pills , I switch to Kratom tabs. You can use tea as well. I take just enough to kill the WD. This is can be anywhere from 6 extra strong pills to two pills. I do not find myself getting addicted to Kratom if used just for WD symptoms. If your at work and starting to get jittery, just take a couple Kratom at a time and wait 30-60m. If you still feel bad take 1-2 more. Repeat as needed. You will eventually run out and at that point (end of week one), you will be substance free. I get the $50 bottle of Kratom pills and always have half left. Also, I this point you should not be snorting anymore, other than a late night sleep med if you ware feeling like total crap near the point of just wanting the opiate again. Dont do it, snort the sleep med (which will give you a placebo - just by snorting).

You will need to take sleep medication. sleep is VERY important. Do NOT go without it! If there is anytime you need a sleep med it is now!!! Also having xanax for anxiety may be something to look into. Though, you have to use it only as a doctor will prescribe it. If you get off on the high of it to the point where you cant stop, you may need to go the route of suboxone or ?

Allow yourself a relapse. I tell myself I am going to go roxy free for one week and then I am going to purchase one. This gives me something to look forward to and helps me through. Usually by the end of the week I do not want the roxy or I may relapse which sets me back a little (NOT to day 1 (more like day 2 or 3 and then the length of it is 4 days total instead of 7)! - any step towards the right direction is a HUGE step!). I am realistic and realize this is like an airplane landing. You want a slow decent. You may get bumped up by some turbulence but keep making sure you are heading down. Crashing straight into the ground is not only insane but completely unnecessary. TAPER, TAPEr, TAPer, TAper, Taper, taper.

On top of all this, hit the sauna, work out and /or go on walks. Which leads me to what they call Morning Walk Syndrome. Morning walk syndrome is the BEST part of opiate withdrawal. This is when you really start thinking of your new life and where you are going to head. I put on some headphones and walk to cafes to write and sort my head out. There will be a lot going on. Morning walk syndrome is a blessing. I look forward to the mornings I wake up early and go for a walk.

I have been through this about 12 times over the past 10 years .Will this be my last kick this time? I cant tell. There have been periods where I was clean for 1-3 years only to relapse again after a breakup or loss of a job, or ? The bottom line is I have to deal with my depression to stay clean. When life is good I have no interest in using.

There are three types of addicts: those that get addicted from being presribed for legitimate pain, those that get addicted through recreation, and those that self-medicate. I am one who self-medicates. Meaing I may need to find a drug such as an SSRI through a doctor to help my chemical imbalance. Or take 5-htp if I want a more natural route. To stay clean, know which sort of addict you are. If you really are in serious pain you have to learn to stay withing the smallest amount possible. This sort of addict is the hardest to deal with in kicking becaues they may really need it. The other two just need to change thrie pattern of thinking to succeed. This takes a lot of soul searching and self help. It can be done.

Will it (sobriety) last for ever? Does not matter. Try to realize that life is best without a drug addiction. Try to stay clean for most of your existence on this earth but certainly do not get discouraged and really down on yourself if you relapse into it again. Allow your self some leeway. You can do it (recover) as many times as you need to. Essentially, thinking the kicking of opiates is not for ever will make the kick much easier and hopefully your life works itself out to the point where opiates are no longer desirable to you. This is the ultimate goal and can be achieved. It really has to be achieved for you to stay clean. You need to look at the positive things in this world as a healthy opiate-free human.

Im not sure there is anything good about going through an opiate addiction, other than the being high part. But that cant last forever and will destroy you long term. Opiate addicts are difficult to be around and are self destructive. Who wants to live out life as that person. You are better off radiating positivity and sharing knowledge. Opiate addiction is death. Sobriety is life. Its your choice which world you want to be in.

Good read man. It helped me today

I should add that what helps me most is pushing through the crappy moments where the norcos wear off. Think of it as working out where you do as much as you can before taking another. You want to feel a little crappy as this is what indicates you are actually weening. So no withdrawals in my Subject line is completely wrong. It should actually be 'w minor withdrawals'. You need to have the feeling of withdrawing, just make it subtle.

We don't have to kill ourselves with CT.

I've done this before and it works , although not everyone has access to hydrocodone . I noticed that booty bumping the hydrocodone made it last longer and was more effective than taking it orally.

I would also reccomend loperamide (immmodium). The large bottles are not that expensive at most big stores (Walmart, but I don't personally support them). It clears up about 85% of the withdrawal symptoms on it own at doses of around 16 mgs).

Kratom is a godsend .Gives you energy if you have to work or something and completely clears up withdrawals . Just don't take it more than 2 weeks. Buy it in bulk online, don't waste your time with extracts and pills . Enough to get you through a week dosing a few tablespoons a day can be had for around 30$. I found 2-5 gs(half to full tablespoon) held me and I was able to sleep well on it at night when the immmodium wasn't sedating me enough .

Some other herbs that are good for withdrawal are ashweaganda( sedating) and bacopa (reduces withdrawal symptoms and is an incredible anti-depressant).

5-HTP may not be good to take with the above herbs .The addition to this list is kinda silly .

5-HTP will help with the long term depression that may have caused the addiction in the first place. Assuming that is what caused it for you. It takes a long time to build up in your system which is why it is mentioned as long term. For me it is absolutely imperative I take 5-Htp to prevent a relapse months down the road. There are no known studies that I have come across that suggest it is bad to take with the other mentioned herbs. That said, you clearly have your opinion against 5-HTP... my opinion has been nothing but positive.

I had no idea immodium was good for anything other than the runs. I just did some more research and it appears it is very effective on its own in relieving withdrawals.
So if anything on this list cant be had its worth a try.

Also, I have found that Kratom alone can take the place of the hydros and the percs. Its not quite as effective but it will certainly do the trick and allow you to continue to go to work.

Good look to you! If it doesn't work, don't give up and just reassess what you need to do.

update here:

I started back again a week after kicking and writing this.

I have broken it down to such a science for myself that I have zero withdrawals using what I describe above. Its an excuse to start up again.

So here I am again a week with no roxy and no withdrawals.

This time I also got a hold of clodnodine which I used instead of benzos (klonipin) to sleep the first three days. The real savior again is Kratom. If you do not want withdrawals, get Kratom, Maeng Da. Tablets work fine, I get them from local head shops and some are better than others but all of them seem to work for me. I go to work during my first five days of withdrawal. Speak in front of groups of people. I am productive, etc. I just have to go to the bathroom every three hours or so to take seven more tabs of Kratom. By the end of the week. I ween automatically because I only take Kratom when I feel crappy. Never more.

This time around I decided to take a close look at why I take roxy. The number one reason is that it helps with depression, at least at firs. The number two reason is for the energy it gives me. I accomplish things I could never accomplish sober. I am HIGHLY productive on roxy. The third reason, as embarrassing as it is, is that it makes me last long in bed.

So I decided to find alternative ways to deal with my three issues. 5-htp works for me but this time around my depression is quite severe. I immediately started adding an ssri to my detox recipe, on the 5th day. I also added modafinal for energy. The ssri keeps me a king in bed as well. I know I am subsituting one thing for another, but the SSRI and Modafinal is a lesser evil IMO. Cost less. Overall, I think I feel like a normal person with this combo, where with roxy I would just burn through relationships, I feel now I can build them.

I have come to the conclusion that I self medicate. This was never for fun partying. It was me just trying to feel normal and function and I must say opiates work amazing but only for a very short term period and the addiction part is horrible. I will never crave an ssri first thing in the morning, or more precisely, need it to function. Modafinal can give me a headache and make me feel kinda crappy the next day, but it is never an addiction.

So I recommend to everyone here to not just try to stop doing opiates, but to really understand why you did them in the first place. If its not to self medicate, your lucky. If it is to self-medicate, you really need to find an alternative, hopefully a natural one (5-htp long term for me), or one that does not cause out of control addiction. If it was not for the insanely addictive aspect of opiates, they would be a god-send. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The addictive nature of opiates is uncontrollable, for everyone. No one is strong enough to fight it. Sure if you cold turkey an SSRI you will have issues, but why would you? They are not addictive so you can easily cut your dosage down to nothing.

I write this because I believe a lot fo people here just have genetic imbalances that they are using opiates to self medicate from. We are lucky to live in a time where there are many solutions and you do not have to live your life in misery. Not all drugs are bad, and some of us just straight up need them. If you refuse to take more drugs you can deal with your issues through meditation. The issue will remain but you will learn to let it fly over like a rain cloud. I speak mostly of fatigue and depression here. It would be interesting to hear if someone else has a different reason for self medicating.

I know I am not the typical case but I believe some people commonly have been using roxy to relieve depression and fatigue. Only to find it makes things worse.

I feel strong about moving forward without roxy, these alternate drugs make no sense for me to do so. When I started this post, I had no intention on quitting for good. It was more of a guide to quit and use, quite and use, etc. I was excepting the fact that I need it. Now I am replacing it with what I feel are better alternatives. I recommend you do the same.
