^ I've know people that didn't know about withdrawal when they were taking a lot of opioids, and their withdrawals weren't bad until after a few times. They could stop and be relatively fine since they weren't expecting anything to happen when stopping, which further proves how much of withdrawal is mental.
When I first started out on opioids I used 30-45mg of hydrocodone 4-5 days a week for almost a year and the withdrawals weren't that bad at all, so I think that you may be hyping it up too much. I know that tramadol has the added SNRI withdrawal, but even so the first withdrawal a person experiences usually isn't that bad unless they had a large habit for a while. Also it takes a while to become dependent at first. After the first withdrawal then it becomes easier to get strung out and the withdrawals seem to get worse even with shorter less severe habits than before, but it takes a while to get strung out at first, and even when it happens it's not that bad.
Everybody is different so the OP will have to find out on their own how it's going to be, but I don't see a reason to say that it will definitely suck. How do you suggest someone prepares for withdrawal? They now know what meds to stock up on, so I don't see how expecting horrible withdrawals will help. The only other way that they can prepare is to make sure they clear their schedule for the week so they can kick without having to worry about school, work, and other responsibilities.
And why do you say that it won't be like they will just feel a bit off for a week? That's how my withdrawals were, even when doing dope for that same amount of time. For me it's 2-3 days of bad withdrawals with another 2 days of feeling off, but after 6 days I'm just achy but nothing major.
This. Don't stress too bad OP, opioid withdrawal is highly mental. It sucks you'll have SNRI WD too but bottom line, it is what it is, there are things you can do to ease your symptoms, there are many threads on this available by search or request. Tommyboy worded my school of thought perfectly, there's no need to add to it.
