So i was told since xanax isnt water soluable it wont work sublingually is that true? also why is the duration shorter when taking this route?

Nah it works SLed, couldn't tell you the why & how behind it though. I just did it a couple days ago with 2 .5mg Xanaxs, it worked quite well to speed the effects. I guess that would be the reason for shorter duration, it hits you faster & a little harder (although maybe it seemed more efficient because of the faster onset) SLed. So the old rule about different ROAs producing different durations most likely holds true here. Tbh though, I actually didn't notice any difference in duration between oral & SL Xanax.

Any drug you take is water soluble to some degree, otherwise it wouldn't be able to cross mucous membranes and get into the bloodstream. Alprazolam is water-soluble, but not very. Alprazolam does work sublingually. It tends to kick in a little quicker, peaks a little quicker, and has a negligibly shorter half-life. The bioavailability is also one point higher IIRC. Isopropanol can be used in very small volumes (I've used 30u for 8mg) to speed the crossing of the alprazolam across the mucous membranes.

Sblingually dissolving xanax under your tounge will most certainly speed onset effects to 10-15 minutes. It's faster than having your stomach take it. Stay safe, stay informed.
