Taking Mushrooms after MDMA.

Ok, so long story short my roommates and I have come into possession of both MDMA, and Mushrooms for tonight. Our plan is to take the MDMA, roll like crazy, and then once we've stopped rolling take the Mushrooms. Though I wanted to here from the BL community beforehand. Anyone done this? Recommend it? Recommend against it? I don't want to Hippy Flip, because I've never actually taken Mushrooms before, and this would be my first time.

I wouldn't reccomend it as you will probably feel very depressed after you're roll it would make the chances of having a bad trip highly likely

I would never take mushrooms for the first time after having come down from MDMA. Yes there is a sort of afterglow from MDMA but there is also just basically a crash. Any such physical and/or mental dip is to the disadvantage of your mushroom trip.
In other words yes the chance seems significantly larger that it turns sour. I do not like to talk in terms of 'bad trips' because I believe that difficult experiences tend to be opportunities to learn from them. But having said that, other experiences are just completely shitty and side-effect riddled. In those cases the term bad trip probably applies, I guess. They happen less often than I think the term bad trip is applied though.

It's smart that you don't hippyflip (combine) for your first time either, that is generally recommended against since it is wise to first get to know a substance well before you explore variations on it. That includes variations in set & setting by the way. The first time should be a default situation safe at home with every risk minimized. Trip for the first time well rested and clear of mind, emotionally stable.

Have a really nice time rolling tonight, trust me and forget about the mushrooms and remember that there will be a next time for the mushrooms. Also be prepared for the possibility that while rolling you might think you feel so good that on the comedown you might eat the mushrooms. Avoid such a situation, you should make sure you don't change your mind because you are incredibly high.

You think you can find yourself in that answer? :)

Well said. I'm in the most comfortable and safe environment imaginable. Perhaps I'll just roll tonight then. I'll run all this by my roommate, and go from there. Though I would like to hear some more feedback before making up my mind entirely.

Worth noting: I never really get depressed after MDMA, and the only time I got kinda blue afterward was a couple of days later. Never the night of.

Of course that's better and would make it less of a sure-fire recipe for a bad result, but still it adds a serious wildcard with all sorts of possible outcomes - a number of which undesirable. Another thing that does not change either is that the reasons to do it instead of wait are quite short-sighted IMO if you are honest with yourself.
But perhaps you would disagree, in the end it is up to you to decide. I won't presume that it is impossible that the result is something positive, I cannot tell you that for certain and neither can others.

How much experience with other psychedelics do you have? Because my first mushroom trip for example (which was my first trip ever) was pretty intense, a wild summertime fairytale merry-go-round, it tells me that you shouldn't jiggle with the set & setting too much. Especially until you have more experience to make a better informed judgement call about it, and even then it is easy to arrive at very strange outcomes.

I've done what you're proposing, and was pretty disappointed. Here's what my experience says:

Shrooms before mdma, wonderful. Shrooms after mdma, hardly noticeable.

I feel relaxed, grounded, and my heart is open after a psilocybin experience. Sort of clears the way for a fun and loving mdma experience the next night. Together they're great too, synergistic, with less of each needed for effect. But taking mushrooms seems to have too many biochemical obstacles. The brain just doesn't want to come out and play much after I roll.

I agree that reversing the order is best, HOWEVER, I've done it this way early in my drug using career and had a pretty great experience. I was coming down by the time the mushrooms started to take effect and was in a bit of a bad mood. Suddenly, the mushrooms kicked in and I had a really deep trip about controlling my state of mind. During this trip was the first time I understood the extent that I have control over how good I feel by controlling my mindset. I was able to fluctuate between coming down and feeling great seamlessly by willing myself into one state or the other. It was undoubtedly the coming down aspect of the MDMA that caused the trip to go in this direction. This said, I wouldn't do it again as the set and setting is not optimal for a trip, and I consider my good experience to be a bit of a chance occurrence.

For your first time, I agree to take them separately.

I am currently with Mitsukuni. I am actually the owner of the place. Now the person we got the MDMA from has been our main supplier when we used to do it and he has always had amazing stuff. We had it shipped to us from California and we are in New Mexico. The odd thing is that we are told that everyone else smacks very well on them, and we aren't. This has been the case for our last few rolls since we moved into NM. What I am starting to wonder is, does elevation have an effect of drugs? We are at 6200ft here and were at sea level in CA. We KNOW the stuff we got tonight is good, no doubt because we are friends with our supplier, yet all we are experiencing is inklings of a high and some jaw clenching at most. We are usually rolling HARD with this stuff. Any thoughts?

i'd think the shrooms should be taken first as well. Coming down off shrooms during an MDMA experience, not bad, shrooming & rolling is pretty win as well. Starting to trip while coming down off a roll kinda sucks. No matter what you're going to have a neurotransmitter deficit, so that's going to play a role in the experience. Also, there is usually some MDA in MDMA, and MDA is a metabolite of mdma and as MDA is a 5-HT2a agonist you're going to have some tolerance issues & the shrooms will have a diminished effect.

I'd think it's always best for your first time with any substance, to do it on its own. Once you know how you handle ecstasy, and mushrooms, then you can think about doing one after the other, or both together. But that's just me, and I'm normally pretty cautious.
