taking an MAOI then smoking DMT?

ok we all know that DMT is not active orally unless taken with an MAOI...we also know that DMT is rapidly metabolized once in the blood stream which accounts for it's short duration...DMT is an amine which would mean it is metabolized by monoamine oxidase...well what would happen if you took an MAOI then smoked the DMT?? the rapid onset of smoking combined with the lack of monoamine oxidase to metabolize the DMT...would this lead to a longer lasting more intense trip or am i asking for a nice case of serotonin syndrome here???

Oh, and to answer your question, I don't think it would have a big effect on the smoked DMT, but I'm not sure about that. I doubt it could cause seratonin syndrome, as that is caused by SSRI's, not MAOIs. If anything it would intensify it, but like I said, I'm talking out of my ass right now.

Seratonin syndrom is not caused by SSRI's, its caused by MAOI's + MDx usually.

test crew vaporized 35 mg harmine freebase prior to vaporization of 25 mg dmt freebase... i suspect that duration of intense part of trip maybe doubled... but we need more data points derived from further experiments (to be conducted next week...)
(also suspect that prior MAO inhibition (via oral or smoking routes) may widen the "window of opportunity" so that you don't have to get it all in 1 or 2 quick tokes, but may be able to "nibble" away at a 50 mg pile over the space of 10 minutes, but, again, no first hand data here (yet)...
in addition, there may be qualitative as well as durational and intensity modifications of the dmt experience by the addition of harmala alkaloids...
somebody over at dmtworld mentioned alternating tokes of harmine & 5MeO-DiPT until "breakthrough" occurs...

Switch, it can also be caused by SSRI's. Say you're taking prozac or paxil, and then take 5-HTP. This can result in severe seratonin syndrome.

True. But like so many of our favorite psychoactives, serotonin is a monoamine and oxidized by MAO. If ones brain is not oxidizing enough Serotonin to maintain a healthy level, SS is possible. Also, does anybody have a good link to SS info, i havent been doing my homework lately
