nothing sadder than a seeker without sight
This thread both saddens and thrills me on what should be a holistic, heuristic holiday.
When someone genuinely wants to "see the big room", they clearly have come to the point where they realize that there is more to life than a white picket fence, Obummer's banter and "Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!1?1!".
But, unfortunately, the cultural mores and folkways that have indoctrinated us with a poisonous demand for instantaneous enlightenment are often not shelved when the seeker tries to find answers; folks still try to use an Easy Button as the platform for breaking free from the Easy Button Mentality. I'm not so much different... I recognize that my high horse is actually quite vertically challenged.
For my own case, I'm trying to cross-connect the mentality engendered by the Slow Food Movement with the realm of psychonautical explorations. And, although not easy to abide by, it seems to inherently fit the form. Of course the old Yogis and Taoists would be like: "Duh! We said that aeons ago". But sometimes it helps to have a more recent frame of reference for taking the slow but sure path. Slow Food mentality helps me get into Slow Psychonauticalism: Planning, preparation, diet, documentation, sharing experiences, integrating and then realizing.
Bottom line I guess is that my advice to The OP whose self-given name is "do it" is to NOT do it.
Back up. Slow down. Then Break Down what you really wanna accomplish when you head out to "do it".
Finally, rebuild an architectural framework for personal advancement that you know will take you step by step to the place you want to be. The journey will be awesome along the way, with evermore phantasmagorical realizations that require integration with reality to effect human evolution of the highest order.
