Take-Off From Sacred Ground.

It's not that ignorance is bliss or that
he who holds much knowledge bears much sorrow,
it's that knowledge is disasterous when
void of the wisdom of how to use it,

and we've learned to perpetuate
and emulate as sacred ground
the transitory road of tension,
of potential rebirth or annihilation,
that lies in the hellacious twilight.

Pelted once again by the wind carrying
tiny grains like invisible hands, little
chards of glass that are amassed in the
sands of time, and bleeding while I'm drinking
and complaining how this,
this just can't be right.

So sick and tired of trying to pacify
the idle mind I cradle as they damn what
they label escape as if the inevitable
truth and reality were a prison,

sick of just speaking to defeaned
eyes or merely playing before the blindest
of ears, I'm going to rip your head right on open
and crawl inside, leave you rewired and
rearranged to see the same world
with brand new eyes,

and I'll do it all to myself, too, just
step back and see, watch as fight to re-align
my mind and life to integrate new possibilities.
