A freind recently told me that the Tobacco(nicotine) smoked by the tribes of the Americas is actualy a stronger chemical than Marijuana(THC)
Yes it is actually, 50 mgs being the LD 50, I do believe the THC is somewhat less potent pure, although I dont know the doseage.
And apparently, Tobacco has become weaker and weaker with more chemical used or just gene selection (weeker product, stronger addiction)...
There is diffrent types of Tobacco out there, some more potent than others, N. Rustica being the most potent. N. Tobacum is much less potent and is used for smoking because it produces a less harsh smoke. However N. Rustica is offten added to smoking blends labeled "Turkish" (Odd since smoking Tobacco is native to the americas) and Bidies. As for them chemicals, there are many used but I believe the compinies are using them to increse addiction.
i heard theres some way to use tobacco (fresh, not processed cigarettes) in a psycheledic (i cant spell) way...
Yes, Jonathan Ott wrote a book on the subject, although I have yet to read it, it would be a good place to start.
tobacco is the devil.
When the first "Indians" met Columbus they gave him friuts, and tobacco. The crew ate the fruits and threw away the sacred leafs. After first metting the indians Columbus wrote in his log something along the lines of "The Indians as such a nice and gentle people, they will make the prefect slaves for the Spanish Empire". Who is really the Devil here?
Tobacco was used in many ceremonial rituals.
True, its was used, and still is used in just about anything from a pow wow to the most humble and serous of rituals as well as gatherings of councles and just plain get togethers. There are many, Many, diffrent tribal used for tobacco. However it is most commomly used as a sort of spirtual protection and to carry thoughts up to the heavens.
some Indian tribes used to use very large pipes (so large that they had to make Tripods to hold them up) to smoke tobacco.
Yes, there have been some amazing pipes made by the tribes of the amreicas. From men to cretures to simple calmulet pipes. Usualy there would be a bowl, prehaps made of a fugure. Then there would be a long stem so the smoker would sit at a distance and smoke with leasure.
I've read that Native Americans would make huge cigars out of Tobacco to use during ceremonial rituals...they weren't constant smokers though...so It would knock them for a loop...
This happend mostly in South america. Nothern tribes used pipes for the most part. But sothern tribes used cigars as well as oral ingestion, and in rare cases anal ingestion. Which is easyer on you since Tobacco is rather toxic at high doses. Incedently that is why this method is not so commonly used, because it is hard to control the dose and would often become leathal
It was the White man's idea to cure tobacco and roll it into thin and (addictive) cigarettes.
True, eurpoeans have taken any sacred meaning out of the plant which is extremly sad. They have demonized it and turned it into the cancer causing threat to Amreicas youth we know it as today. There are few people left who know what this plant is truely about. And they are most oftten hidden deep within the inner cricles of Native american culture. There knowege is fastly dissapering and if we want to know about the real meanings of this plant we all should do are best to seek out this knowege.
