Syrian Rue + LSD

Last night I ground up 5 grams of syrian rue seeds and mixed it in with orange juice. I drank this mixture and waited an hour before I dropped 2.5 hits of pretty weak acid.
This was very unsuccessful. I always thought that syrian rue with 2.5 hits of LSD would make it like I took 4 hits or something. I guess I was wrong.
It felt just like 2.5 hits but with a little more slow, earthy feeling.
I guess I just need better acid?
Or would it work better with shrooms?

I was always under the assumption that MAOI's decrease LSD effects. But Syrian Rue and Shrooms are a great combo, people say it gives a more ancient and directed mood to their trip. But along with these potentiating effects there is more nasuea which always sucks when tripping. Tricyclic antidepressants do make the effects of LSD noticably stronger though but with increased possible negative physical side effects.
Dont expect some plant to magically make your trip as strong as if you were eating a bigger dose of your hallucinogen of choice. Peace.

From what I have read, Syrian Rue does not potentiate LSD, I don't know why. It will definitely increase the effects of shrooms and other tryptamines.

I thought the LSD trip was to do with the lowering of serotonin levels in the cortex. As MAOI's stop the oxidation of serotonin this would help keep the levels high and prevent triping.
Someone with better knowlage reply.
I read an artical called "secrets of an acid head" in new scientist magazine. They have it on the web site but you have to subscribe (free). It goes into how the visualls from acid happen.
 
Phreex, I did some digging on erowid, and the little I could find there about LSD and MAOIs suggests that it does intensify the effects, though nothing as earth shattering as what people say it does for shrooms or for DMT...
However, I can remember coming across reading somewhere that though it does work for psilocybin, and the rest it doesn't work for LSD... if anyone can find reference to this I'd appreciate it, because I've been digging for about an hour and can't find it.
