I have read that oxymorphone hydrochloride (Opana) can quite easily be made from oxycodone HCl with a few common chemicals and not a very difficult process. As oxymorphone is so much stronger and my doc refuses to increase my OxyContin script, I would love to make each monthly script into the far more potent oxymorphone; apparently yield is around 65% but the difference in strength means that in IR form I would get over five times the analgesia by using this synthesis.
Can anybody enlighten me on methods and what is required? Also the actual figures which would make the increase in analgesia more clear to me.
I am no real chemist, just a 'play' chemist, but this is one thing that could easily solve my prescription problems by giving me a far superior analgesic in far higher quantity than the original tablets are giving at the moment.
Help, anyone?
