I wanted to get your opinion on something
I have been a daily user of poppy tea for the past year. I tried going cold turnkey off pods this past week but it was complete hell and gave in after 4 days... I know poppy tea withdrawal is one of the worst, so I was wondering if you guys thought the withdrawals would be easier if I started using morphine and roxies for a few weeks before I quit? Since I know you get addicted to all the different alkaloids in poppy tea, would switching switch it back to just the morphine addiction? I’m going home this week and can finally get some great pills again that’s why I’m asking… I’m going to be getting 80 morphine IR 30s and about 30 30mg roxies.
Or am I just totally off here on thinking switching might make it any better and shorter?

I think switching to pharms from pods is a good idea. Although they may be more potent they are much easier to taper and deliver specific doses etc. The long complex actives in the poppies may also get a chance to get out of your system as you considered. You just need to be careful you don't replace one habit with another.

Good luck.

^ amapola makes some good points to consider. There are definitely concerns and difficulties with this approach to also consider. The shorter-acting drugs will kick in quicker, peak quicker and wear-off quicker so with more frequent dosing, it can be more tempting for people to use more and dose more regularly.

If you're confident that you can use them in minimal doses just to taper down with, it could work well. Some people can do this and others will just blow the shorter-acting drugs and essentially be in the same place.

I used loperamide when I quite pods and it didn't eliminate all the withdrawal but enough to make it bearable and it was very easy to taper. Some people have success with this and some don't.
